|18| Love Poem

i can write pages and pages of
poems,
stories,
letters
about love.

i can spend hours
thinking,
reading,
watching movies
about the said love.

i can spend every waking hour
hoping,
dreaming,
wondering
when i'll find love, if i'll find love.

because ironically enough,
i've never had love.
i've never kissed another soul.
i've never had the luxury to call someone my own.

and i hate this.
i hate obsessing over something so futile.
i hate overthinking about my insecurities
while i could be spending the time
doing something productive.

so i'm doing something productive.

i'm writing yet another poem about it, about love-
the very last.
i'm making a promise to myself
to wait, to have patience,
for all good things take time.

so, hey, future love,
i'm waiting for you,
patiently.
take your time, but hurry up.
and in the meanwhile,
i'll be trying to be my own soulmate
i'll be trying to love my own self.
