I said, "I hate you."
Was I trying to convince me or you?
I said, "I'm okay, go away."
While kept thinking, "Stay, stay."
I acted indifferent,
While deep down I cared every bit.
Evaded every heart to heart,
Facetious was my facade.
I laughed unwittingly
When you told me I looked pretty.
I brushed off every compliment,
Bathed in my own insecurities.
Fear, the muzzle on my mouth,
Suffocated me from saying things aloud.
Past, the chains that kept me bondage,
Didn't allow me to gain pace.
Yes, I never showed it
But I wanted you.
Yes, I could never say it
But I loved you.
It stops for no one, it's time.
Now you're gone,
Leaving me and my pride behind.
We're here enclosed in my walls, alone.
