I try to navigate the crowd as I clutch the hem of my dress finding it difficult to weave through the hundreds of people. The whole ball is in a frenzy, everyone trying to look for their partners with women rushing up and down the stairs and men looking far and wide.

I look for Lorenzo in the crowd but don't spot anyone who resembles him. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack; impossible to find. This task is proving to be very difficult but I need to find him. I need to hear him out, talk to him, and feel him one more time.

I resume my search and look in the hallway that leads to the washrooms and even under the buffet tables hoping he'll be crouched under scoffing his mouth with cakes like you see in movies. I only find some women under there, hiding with their index fingers placed to their mouths as they shush any people that have found them. It is no use as I keep returning without Lorenzo by my side.

I would be lying if I said I didn't miss him because truth is I miss him so damn much. I think about him all the time, every day, every night but the things he said can not be erased and the pain in my chest cannot be healed. That's the way life works, we eventually learn to move on and overtime we find happiness in the littlest things. Will I live a life of sadness forever? Only time will tell.

Its been a quarter of an hour with only 15 minutes remaining till the twelfth hour. There has still been no luck in finding Lorenzo but then it comes to me. Why didn't I think of this sooner, it was so clear and I failed to think of it earlier. He had written on the card:

You know where I'll be,
Just trust me, si?

The only place I hadn't thought of to look was the balcony. It was obvious now that he would probably be around that area. I gather my dress running up the stairs, my heels thudding with every step I take. I find a space in between a couple who have been reunited as I take in the view of the ballroom. It is astonishing, the people below barely visible, merely dots to the naked eye.

I find Luca scurrying in the crowd getting extremely close to where Leia is standing off to the side. She is hidden in view but in a matter of seconds will be found. I can't wait around to see their romance being kindled but I do know they will be perfect for each other.

Where would I go if I were Lorenzo? The cogs in my head turn like crazy, until I bump into Adelina.

"Adelina!" I exclaim, surprise coating my features.

"Hi Miss Ro- Celeste you look gorgeous." She says embracing me in a quick hug.

Adelina's usual dress and apron has been ditched for an emerald green strapless dress that hugs her waist and flows from her legs. Her hair is styled in a princess braided bun and on her neck sits a stunning diamond necklace showcasing her beauty.

"You look beautiful Adelina but what are you doing here?"

"Mr Lorenzo asked me to be his plus one. He said something about you not being able to come."

"What! I'm literally right here in the flesh. Mr Lorenzo didn't even ask me." I say, anger clouding my conscience.

"He didn't?"

"No he didn't. Do you know where he is?"

"He was just through there when I last spoke to him." She says pointing to the left. "Good luck Celeste!"

"Thank you Adelina!"

I follow Adelina's directions and find myself standing outside a door that leads to a terrace. I cross the threshold until I make out a broad, tall suited figure. That's definitely gotta be Lorenzo. Stupid motherfucker yet my heart still aches when I'm in his presence.
