Juliet's POV

This is it. Today is when I am going to tell Christen that I can't be with him. I'm honestly not sure how to tell him. I feel like I'm a push over because I'm really nice to everyone. I hate hurting people's feelings. It just makes me feel awful.

I think part of the problem is because I know how rejection feels and it really really sucks. I never want to make anyone feel that way. But I can't lead him on. I'm just not in love with him.

I don't really have to tell him who I'm in love with. Christen is a really sweet guy and I'm certain he will understand even if he is a little upset. I know it might start out awkward but we might even be able to be friends after. My palms are sweating.

I just texted Christen to come over to my apartment for about 5 minutes. Short and sweet...

I sat at the kitchen counter working on an essay and thinking about how I can explain to him. Jack and Jack are out on dates so apparently Johnson and Gia are fine. Gilinsky wanted to leave so I could break the news without other guys hanging around.

Ding dong!

Damn, he's already here?

I nervously opened the door to see Nate, not Christen.

"Hey... Um can u come in?" He said from outside the door.

"The guys won't be home all day." I said.

"I know. I left some stuff here when I was over last time." He muttered.

"Oh! Yeah sure." I replied trying to overcome the terribly awkward situation.

"Thanks." He walked in and started up the stairs.

The doorbell rang again.

Oh this sucks...

"Nate! Christen is here. Can you please stay upstairs until he leaves? He'll only be here a few minutes and I don't want him to see you here." I said quietly to him.

"Okay that's fine." He replied the continued upstairs.

As soon as he was out if sight I opened the door.

"Hey baby. I was starting to think you wouldn't open the door." He laughed.

This is going to be so difficult.

"Come in." I said sorta smiling.

"So what's up?"

"I- umm need to tell you something." I struggled to get the words out.

"Go on..." He laughed.

"We need to break up. I know we just started dating but I answered when I wasn't ready a-"

"You're kidding?" He asked looking amused.

"No..." I replied a little bit confused.

"Okay, well you're just nervous about being in a relationship, that's understandable." He said.

I felt relieved.

"Babe, don't be silly. We aren't breaking up." He said looking me dead in the eyes.

"Christen... Why are you being like this." I said getting frustrated.

"I don't know what you're talking about sweetheart." He leaned in and pulled me close.

"Christen stop! Let me go, I told you.. We need to break up."

"No! That's not how it works."

He harshly kissed me and I tried to turn my head away. I pulled away and took a few steps back.
