Shadow had never fit in. She'd always felt like, well, a shadow. The only place she felt like she belonged
was the Shadow Realm. She'd discovered it when she was seven. She'd been walking through the
rainforest when she fell into a hole. At the bottom of the hole was a circle of black bricks with a keyhole
in the middle. Curiously, Shadow took off her necklace, which had a key pendant. She shoved it into the
lock.
It fit.
She turned the key. The bricks folded in on each other, revealing what looked like a black abyss. She
jumped into the abyss.
Shadow sat by the abyss in the Shadow Realm when she heard a whisper.
"Shadow..." It said.
"Yes?"
"Let me out... use the key..."
Shadow, confused, removed her key necklace. Her talon was pulled to the abyss. Then, it stopped and
pulled the key down. It turned, and clicked. Tendrils of shadow shot out of the abyss and into Shadow.
She seemed to absorb the shadows.
"Thank you. We will do great things together."
Srry this is really short. Welp, hope you enjoyed!
