Notes

I completely and regrettably forgot to announce in the last update that the previous couple chapters have awesome, amazing and beautiful Khiyali Pulaos (KP - imaginative scenes for the existing story plot Shiv and Anjali) by the wonderful and gorgeous readers and writers themselves mehweenGR and StarsAndMoon1447. I feel absolutely honored! I never imagined Shiv and Anjali to be so so likable. If you haven't read these KP's yet, please do give it a read!

Additionally, the chapter Chapter 19 - Shiv Weds Anjali has seen 260 + comments !  🤩🤩 Thank you so much !

Lastly, if you are a silent reader and appreciate the story, please do put in a vote. It'll help me stay motivated !

Shivani

My in-laws and our relatives were going to be here for lunch any moment now. Jai and Harshit had gone to help them check out of the hotel. I was packing away all of our stuff and missing my mother like always. My 'maika' was without my mother ever since I was married and I felt horrible every time I left this home to be in 'my home with Jai'.  This time was no different, if anything, I missed my mother even more today.

Shikha liked having us over but I never got the very welcome vibes from her probably because she wasn't a very homely person herself. She liked Riya too and Riya liked her back but I could never feel that she was comfortable around kids and that was fine. Not everyone is kid friendly.  Therefore, I hated to even say that I loved staying here after Shikha had left Shiv. A little voice in my head prayed that Anjali was not like Shikha and that she would not mind me staying over in my parental home occasionally.

On the other hand, Jai and I were celebrating 12 years of togetherness tomorrow which was technically two days after Shiv's wedding. Last night, after all rituals, me and Jai had packed dinner for Shiv and Anjali. Riya had slept all by herself in Papa's room which was our room for the night when my charming husband had come into the room with an envelope in his hand.

There were basically reservation receipts for a resort based in the Western Ghats, around 2 hours from here. The brochure of the resort advertised the place as honeymoon/couple's destination hub with rooms having floor to ceiling windows and facing valley waterfalls. The photographs of the place were lovely and screamed romance.

Jai and I had been unable to celebrate our wedding anniversaries for the past few years - last year Jai had been traveling for work, the year before that Riya had taken ill, the year before that Jai's younger brother's wife and my devarani had delivered a baby and Jai had conveniently forgotten our big day. This year, both me and Jai thought we had lost our chance due to Shiv's wedding but luckily there were a couple of days in between.

devarani - husbands younger brother's wife

Celebrating for me didn't involve vacationing with him but just spending some cozy and some intimate alone time with him. It was as if we had forgotten how it was when we were together, as lately we barely got time each other. If Riya had not been sleeping in the same room, I am sure we would have made love because, that's how I felt when he said he had managed to book a resort for us for our anniversary.

Riya had said she was ok going back with her grandparents to Delhi this evening. The first thing we had done even before making the bookings was to check in with Riya. But after waking up in the morning, as I started packing her things, she said does not want to go to Delhi. She wanted to spend time with us as well. Her pout was the exact same as Jai and I melted immediately.
