The warm spring breeze whipped across her face as she began her approach to the outdoor cafeteria. Last night, after Luminous helped her find her way to her new dorm room, he told her to meet him there the next day when she took her lunch.

So far, for her first day of classes, they were cut short. She wasn't sure why but all the students seemed to be on edge, looking out in every corner of the school, watching each other's backs, as if they were waiting for something to happen.

Perhaps Luminous would know why.

Noises echoed in every direction as she made her way to the cafeteria. Students ran and rode across campus, others were busy talking within their friend groups, and Y/N even made notice of the students who liked to keep to themselves. Headphones on top of their heads, listening to music that would sweep them away into a different world.

As she made her way down the steps toward the cafeteria, she spotted Luminous with his head hanging low. She nodded her head to the side in confusion as she approached the sluggish boy, a cold plate of pizza sitting in front of him. She stopped in her tracks once she was standing at the edge of the table, waiting for Luminous to notice her. She bent down to get a look at his face, and she was surprised to see his eyes closed as if he was catching up on some sleep. She chuckled, shaking her head as she took the seat in front of him.

The sound of the chair screeching along the ground woke him from his nap, and Luminous shot up with his eyes wide. He frantically looked around, making noises of surprise as his eyes finally landed on Y/N, watching him with amusement.

"You look like you've seen a ghost," she said.

Luminous sighed, slumping back into his seat. "I did—or at least I thought I did," he answered. This made Y/N raise a brow, expecting him to go on with his story while taking in his disheveled appearance. "But last night, Finger kept messing with me while I was playing games. I thought there was a death servitor in my room,"

"Poor thing," Y/N said, a hint of sarcasm escaping along with her words, but Luminous didn't seem to notice. He leaned forward and took a large bite of his pizza. Y/N couldn't help but scrunch her nose with discomfort as he chewed with his mouth open, talking at the same time.

"I know," chew, "Finger likes to mesh," chew, "wif me," chew, "but he should take it eeshy," he gulped loudly. Between his talking and gross chewing, Luminous went on about Finger and his pranking streak. Poor Luminous was always on the receiving end of Finger's jokes and pranks.

"You two seem close," Y/N said, watching Luminous take another bite of his pizza. Luminous shrugged. This time, thankfully, he finished chewing and swallowing before talking again.

"I guess. He was the first person who became my friend unless you count Nono," Luminous answered, putting his pizza back down onto his plate to take a sip of his soda.

"Who's Nono?" Y/N asked.

Before Luminous could answer, the two of them are suddenly interrupted by a chair being swiveled around and placed at their table. A boy sits down in the seat energetically, leaning over the table with his arms outstretched across it.

"Finger? What are you doing here?" Luminous said, his tone having the slightest hint of annoyance.

"I just came by to say hi to my friend and the newbie," he gestured to Y/N, putting an arm around Luminous' shoulder. "Did you get any sleep last night man? Haha, you look exhausted!"

Finger made fun of Luminous, yet he rambled on so much Luminous didn't have a chance to say anything back to his friend. Y/N watched amusingly. The two of them together definitely seemed like the rowdiest pair in the school. Y/N ignored all the stares they were getting thanks to the boys.
