Notes/ANNOUNCEMENT

Nearly two months later, I'm back!

I originally wanted to go back to my regular weekly Wednesday updating schedule, but for the time being, updates might still take a while longer. But I hope this chapter is enough to satisfy the long wait you all had to endure. Thank you so much for being patient!

So until further notice, chapters will just come out whenever I'm done with them. I'm in the process of getting my schedule and this story's schedule on track though! I will update you all when this story is gonna be back on a regular updating schedule. :)

And as I stated in the previous interlude chapter, the story really begins here! I am extremely excited for you all to read what's coming up!

Like always, thank you all so much for the support and patience!

Arc 2. Mission in Japan.

With the Ace Team's arrival in Japan, they deal with devils, gang members, and an underground organization known as the mighty Hydra. What was meant to be an already tough mission to board the submersible and destroy a dragon embryo, they instead find themselves caught in a war destined to destroy the world.

Four months ago.

"We received an audio recording from the seas of Japan,"

The man seated beside Anjou pulled out a recorder, pressing the play button as Anjou turned his ear to the machine.

"We determined that this was the sound of a heartbeat," the same man said, "While searching for the wreckage of the Lenin that sank 20 years ago, when we picked up on the sound, we could assume that it was just an embryo, and perhaps the main cargo of the ship,"

The audio stopped, and the principal pulled away, leaning back into his seat. Anjou rubbed the white hairs on his chin in thought—his mind replayed the hypnotic sounds of the heartbeat. His brows pulled together, frustrated. "And I'm assuming you have a plan?" he questioned harshly.

"Well, we speculate that the White Queen isn't completely dead—hence the heartbeat we were able to pick up. The dragon might be waiting to resurrect, so it's most likely waiting for the right moment," hums of agreement flowed across the board, rows of people seated along the large table nodded in unison. Dressed in white lab coats and ridiculous goggles, no one would expect these people to be experts in dragon lore.

These were the buffoons of the Gear Department.

Despite their tendency to set the school on fire or accidentally set off bombs in their labs, they certainly had a knack for obtaining critical information. Although Anjou would always leave the Gear Department with a throbbing headache, to say those in the Gear Department were easy to talk to would be a lie.

"And do you have a way to destroy this embryo?" Anjou asked expectantly.

"We've prepared a few options," the man started, "Scenario A: we could remotely guide the BIU-117 bombs to blow up the seabed. But the side effect for that is Japan might sink..."

Anjou's brow twitched, but he continued to listen to the explanations by the head of the department. "Same plan with Scenario B, but the Korean Peninsula might sink..."
