Third Person POV:
It had been about a week or so since Y/n's birthday. Jungkook and Taehyung unanimously 'won' at karaoke that night and after about two minutes of their victory celebration, the two had fallen back onto the couch, whining about how tired they were.
"I told y'all 'V' is for Victory! Kim Taehyung never loses! I'm inevitable-" And he flopped back onto the couch, "Ah! I'm tired. Winning all the time is exhausting"
"Inevitable my ass" Ji-Ah grumbled and sat closer to Dakota, who chuckled at Taehyung's victory speech.
The boys had since moved onto the next leg of their tour, going from Seoul to New York. Their flight was yesterday and unfortunately (or fortunately) Y/n wasn't able to make it to the airport to bid them goodbye properly. She had a meeting with Got7 (A/N: sorry about this, again, cbf changing it) about their upcoming album and discussion of their own tour.
Jungkook had an unanticipated encounter at JFK Airport that left the media in chaos. It just so happened that Blackpink (A/N: Honestly, at this point I'm pulling out all the clichés and really milking them for all the drama I can :) ) were at JFK at the same time that the boys were. They landed not that long before Bangtan and were walking through customs when the groups had bumped into each other and thought it would be nice to catch up, while they were free. (A/N: ik this isn't really how it works, but yk let's pretend that it is.) Deciding that it would be a good idea, they walked through the airport together. Not really considering the amount of fans that both of them had, combined, they hadn't seen the problem, until they got to the main part of the airport (A/N: Idk what it's called, but like the part where they have to walk through after security and customs and all that, to leave the airport)
There were hordes of fans and paparazzi awaiting their arrival, and caught the two groups walking together. It was when a 'crazed fangirl' almost practically threw herself at Lisa and Jugnkook, that Lisa grabbed Jungkook's arm, feeling unsafe. In that moment, Lisa wasn't really thinking about the amount of cameras they had on them, she was more terrified of the fact that such a small girl could throw herself at someone with such aggression. Jungkook, in a frazzled state, was completely aware of all the cameras and attention, but at the same time, he remembered what it was like the first time that happened to him, and how shocking and startling the experience was. So, he linked arms with Lisa and proceeded to walk her closer to their security team, so as to avoid another 'crazed fan'. And just like that, there were gasps, screams and clicks of cameras going off, that's when they realized what the fuck just happened.
Lisa wasn't too worried about the rumors. I mean, there were rumors that they were dating on multiple occasions, so they knew how to deal with it. Jungkook however, was the only one who knew about the one missing detail. Every time that there had been a dating rumor between him and Lisa, Y/n had been with him and they were both quick to shut down the allegations. This time however, Jungkook and Y/n had not been seeing each other. It was different this time because he was trying to figure out a way to get Y/n back, and this certainly wouldn't help his case. But it was too late. Jungkook had let his sympathy get the better of him and now, inevitably, the dating rumors would start up again, with hard proof this time."I'm so sorry Jungkookie. I was startled and I wasn't thinking and- I'll make sure that my manager takes care of it." She apologized over the phone, when both groups were in their respective cars. She didn't want to risk giving the public any more reason to believe that the two were romantically involved.
"What have I said about saying sorry for these things? Don't apologize for something that isn't your fault. It's fine noona. We both know that talking to our managers is not gonna solve much. The only thing we can do now is just clear up the misunderstanding, again."
"What did I say about calling me noona? I'm only six months older than you. Anyways, you know, if it weren't for these dating rumors, I probably would never have even spoken to you, or like- met you." She laughed on the other line. Jungkook smiled slightly.
"Yeah, it's weird. But, it makes for a good story."
"Mhmm, ah, Jungkookie, I gotta go, we've got meeting before we head to the hotel. I'll call you later to discuss our plan of action, yeah?"
"Okay noona," He put extra emphasis on the word 'noona' which make Lisa grumble, but chuckle nonetheless "call me if you see an article"
And with a sigh, they both hung up. They really needed to make it clear that they are practically like siblings at this point.
The whole car ride to the hotel, all Jungkook could think about was Y/n's reactions to the articles.---
"MA! Did you see the articles?!?" Ji-Ah screeched from down the hall
"Jeez Ji, it's 5:30 on a Sunday morning. Can it wait until noon?"
"No Mom, it can't, look!" Ji-Ah jumped onto Y/n's bed and shoved her iPad in Y/n's face.
'BTS's Jungkook dating Blackpink's Lisa?' the headline read.
"Ji, you know these rumors are always fake." Y/n rolled her eyes "This is what you woke me up for?"
"Why are you reading it- no, look at the pictures!"
Y/n scrolled down to see a picture of Lisa clinging onto Jungkook's arm and another of Jungkook with his hand on Lisa's waist, guiding her out of the airport. Y/n felt her heart crack a little at the sight of the two together. But she knew it would happen eventually, all she could do was be happy that her Kooks had moved on.
"Mom, you ok? You're crying" Ji moved closer and wrapped her arms around her mother. Y/n hadn't even realized she let a tear slip.
"It's fine, I'm fine. He was always gonna move on. I just didn't think I'd have to find out through a bunch of articles."
"I'm sorry Mommy."
"Hey, it's not your fault. Don't apologise. Remember what I said about apologies?"
"Never give them unless you've truly done something wrong, I know. You know, that's very hypocritical of you. You always apologize for stuff that's not even your fault."
"Where did you learn the word hypocritical?" Y/n ignored the question and looked at her daughter, wide-eyed, before slipping out of bed and heading downstairs to make coffee.
"Surely one of them will call me about it, right?" She mumbled to herself.
