Chapter 8

The next days were fast. We see each other for two nights at home. Every waking up, he's no longer beside me. Maaga syang umaalis para sa duty. But, regardless of his busy duty schedules and my hell school life, we managed to go on quick dates. Minsan nga lang kahit kumakain kami sa labas nagrereview kami parehas. The silence between those moments never annoyed me, it was actually felt good. Like my heart is in content.

"Baby, can we skip our date tomorrow?" He asked.

I looked at him blankly. "Okay. But, are you going somewhere?"

"Ethan told me we'll enroll in topnotch," he replied. "Or do you want to go with me? Sama ka. Then, let's go on a date after."

"Wag na. I have to review, too. Malapit na yung long exams namin. Let's just eat our dinner here," I answered. "Or late ka rin makakauwi?"

"It will just be quick. I'll order our food," he uttered. "Should I pick you up?

"Wag na."

The next day, I had my SGD. As usual, nasabon na naman kami. Sanay na sanay na ata kaming napapagalitan tuwing case discussion. Every fiber of me knows how to just say "Will read on that, doc."

Okay naman yung precept namin nila Lou sa Med 1. It was a success. Akala ko buong araw na badtrip ako dahil sa nasigwan kami nila Dom nung morning. Okay naman pala sa hapon.

"Let's celebrate." Trix suggested. Due to exhaustion and sleep deprivation, we just nodded in unison.

We went to a resto near our school. Sagot naman lahat ni Gerard. This was new, dati sagot lahat ni Lou or minsan ni Dom. Kaya marami din ako natitipid kasi sobrang generous nila.

When I went home, my conscience ate me. Chester prepared our dinner, take-outs, but he even lit the whole kitchen with candles. He's patiently waiting. I looked at him apologetically.

I walked slowly. My breathing didn't even stabilize despite me trying so hard. It was already 10 pm. Nagreview pa kasi ako sa condo ni Dom. Muntik na ngang matulog ako dun.

I sat across him. "Baby.."

He looked at me and just smiled. "Kumain ka na?"

I cried. "I'm sorry. I forgot. We had dinner with the whole barkada. Then, nagreview ako sa condo ni Dom."

He reached my face and wiped my tears. "It's fine, baby. Kain na ako, ha?"

I nodded. "I'll eat again."

He shook his head. "Hindi na. Get change."

"Galit ka?"

"I'm not. Okay lang."

"Kain ka na. I'll watch you." I mumbled.

He creased his forehead. "Chloe, okay lang. Maligo kana. Magrereview ka pa. I'll make your coffee."

It made me cry more. "Asar. Bakit ang understanding mo?!"

"Should I start a fight, instead? It's fine. I also went to med school. Alam ko yang mga after precept dinner. I also forgot
other things during those times. Okay lang."

"I love you." I mumbled.

He smiled gently. "I love you, too. Ligo na. Let's review after."

"How's your duty?" I asked when we were reviewing.

"As usual. Toxic."

"Nakapag-enroll na kayo?" Tanong ko.
