Chapter 18

First night namin sa condo, sobrang kabado at excited namin para bukas. We were done fixing our things yesterday, tumulong pa si Dom at Gerard na sya namang magkasama sa isang condo sa QC. Sa Manila kasi kaming apat naman.

"Seriously kaya nyo bang mag-ldr ni Ge?" Tanong ko kay Lou na naabutan kong kakatapos ng videocall sa clingy din nyang boyfriend. I missed Chester.

"Maybe," she answered. Nagbukas sya ng cupboard at naghanap ng chocolate drink ata. She made me cup too.

"Why? Do you have any tips for us?" She asked seriously.

My mind was blank for a second. I was thinking of surprising Chester for our anniversary, months away pa naman pero mahirap na baka makalimutan ko nanaman.

"I got nothing, okay?" I said. "I mean, as long as you trust each other. Wala namang sagot sa tanong mo. Kayo if gusto nyo. As long as gusto nyo."

"Damn," she murmured. "Kuya Chester, changed you."

"Oh, yeah?"

"Hell yeah. The last time I checked, you're the paranoid one."

I sipped on my cup. "Well, he never make me doubt anyway. Tska, paano naman magloloko yun andun si Kuya Ethan. Unless, Kuya Ethan will back him up."

She laughed. "No. They may be best friends but, Kuya treats you as his sister too."

"I know. The first months would be hard, lalo first time nyo. Trust me, dumaan kami dyan nung bagong lipat sya sa Taguig. You just have to trust more."

She nodded. Pinagkwentuhan din namin yung gala ko sa Paris. Hindi ko nga lang natanong if natuloy sila ni Gerard sa gala nila kasi panay yung akin naman yung tinatanong nya. After few hours nauna na akong natulog kasi tumawag din si Chester.

The call was brief though, he just said his reminders. Perks of dating someone who's in the same field as you. May mga tips pa syang nakakatawa.

I survived the first week na hindi sumusuko. Wala akong kasama sa kanila. Minsan kasama ko sa duty si Lance, but we rarely talk since ang toxic talaga.

"Hi, baby." Chester said smiling when he fetched me from the hospital. I just smiled briefly.

"I'm so tired," I murmured. "Can I sleep?"

"Sure, I'll just wake you up later. Anong gusto mong food?"

Binaba ko ng konti yung upuan. "Bahala kana."

But, he didn't wake me up at all. Nakahiga  na ako sa kama nya nung nagising ako. I just took a shower first then, looked for him. He's busy doing something with his laptop, hindi nya namalayang palapit na ako. I took it as a chance to hug him from his back.

"How's your sleep?" He asked calmly. "Kain na tayo."

I kissed his shoulder. "Baby, I'm so tired."

He removed my hands around him and tapped the stool beside him, telling me to sit. I did. He pulled me closer to him and hugged me from my side then he rested my head on his shoulder. Home.

"I'll massage you later," he said. "Kawawa naman yung baby ko." He mumbled in a child-like voice.

I pouted. "Tss. Ano ako bata?! But, seriously parang hihiwalay na yung muscles ko sa bones ko. Lakad ng lakad, kadalang umupo tapos late yung kain."
