Chapter 45

After attending my nephew's birthday we decided to go home, pinipilit pa nila kaming mag-stay sa bahay nila pero gusto  ng umuwi nung anak namin.

Matapos ko maligo at magligpit ng gamit, naabutan ko silang nanunuod ng basketball. A bowl of popcorn was between them, both of their eyes were fixated with our television. Umupo ako sa gilid ni Kale.

"Do you even understand that, love?" I asked him pertaining with the game rules. He looked at me with his brown eyes.

"Daddy explained the rules. And remember mommy, nonong taught me how to play?"

Tumango na lang ako. "Are you not sleepy yet?"

"Not yet. It's just another quarter, mommy."

"Okay. Should I fix your bed? Where are you sleeping?" I then asked.

Kale glanced at me again. "My room. Daddy said you'll do something productive."

Natawa si Chester kaya agad ko siyang binalingan. I glared at him, Kale was busy with the game.

"Baliw," I mouthed.

He smirked. "What? Ayaw mo?" Bulong naman niya.

Tahimik ko lang silang pinapanuod, he cheered for Lakers like they are part of the team, looking at them made me realize how a carbon copy Kale is. From his facial features to his movements and even attitude, all mirrored Chester.

"Dito ka," utos ni Chester. Inirapan ko siya at umupo sa pwesto niya. Pinahinga ko yung ulo ko sa balikat niya.

"Her teacher emailed me his grades. Top 1 pala siya, we need to really stay for another week para sa graduation niya." Sabi ko.

"Really? Tss. Mana sa akin talaga." Proud na bulong niya.

Kinurot ko yung tagiliran niya. "Kapal mo. Matalino rin naman ako."

"Sinabi ko bang hindi?"

"So, imove ko yung Paris ha?" Malumanay na hayag ko.

"Sure. I can surely wait."

My eyes met his. "Gusto mo talaga mag-paris?"

"Yeah, why? Ayaw mo?"

"Hindi naman. Okay lang, but I don't think Kale will enjoy." I said with honesty.

"Then, we'll just stay for a week? Tapos uwi na?"

"Okay."

"Sa Bacolod pala tayo didiretso," sabi niya noong hinilig ko ulit yung ulo ko sa balikat niya. "Andun sila mommy, vacation. Gusto daw mameeet nung mga kamag-anak ko sila Kale. Pupunta rin ata sila Celine."

Bago matapos yung laro ay nakatulog na si Kale, binuhat na muna siya ni Chester papunta sa kwarto niya, nauna naman akong pumasok ng kwarto.

"Sinindi mo yung lampshade niya?" Halos pabulong na sabi ko noong humiga na siya at inayos yung kumot namin.

"Yup. Hindi talaga siya nakakatulog ng hindi nakasindi yun?"

I hugged him after he pulled me. "Nakasanayan na niya, lalo 'pag night duty ko, sabi ko ako ang papatay kung nasa tabi na niya ako."

"I'm sorry you both had to go through that phase, hindi na tayo magkakahiwalay."
