Chapter 12

It took us two hours to finally arrived in his place. Ang traffic pa rin kahit late na ng gabi. I was watching all the cars and towers passing trying to suppress my emotions. Ngayon pa lang nagsisink-in, madalang na pala talaga kami magkikita. He have to do three days straight of duty tapos yung off nya yung uwi nya lang para matulog. I thought his internship prepared me for this, hindi pala. Malayo na talaga kami. I sighed.

"It's your birthday," he said when I'm waiting for him to key-in the code. Binuksan ko na lang. The place is spacious I must say.

"How many rooms?" I asked while my eyes scanned the whole place. It was a typical bachelor's pad, with black and gray shade mostly for the interior. It speaks masculinity.

"Three," he paused then his eyes met mine. "Our room, may walk-in closet na dun. The spare rooms for your things maybe when you move-in with me."

I walked after he pointed his room. "Did you buy this or you're renting? It's too big, Chester."

"Dad gifted this. Why?" He looked at me cluelessly with my face kinda distorted. "It doesn't suit your taste? Pwede ko naman ipabago."

"It's fine, no need for that."

He reached for my hand when we finally entered his room. "What's wrong, baby?"

I smiled and contained my emotions. "Nothing. Paano ka dito? Yung grocery mo?"

Lumapit sya at marahan akong niyakap. Only in his arms I find comfort and contentment. My heart is at ease everytime he do this. All my what ifs vanish, my worries and my fears of him being away. Ang OA Taguig lang sya at Manila ako, pero dahil parehas kaming busy malamang once a week or thrice a month na lang kami magkikita.

"I'll just sleep here. Uuwi ako sayo kapag nakapagpahinga na ako rito," mahinang sabi nya habang nakatingin sa mga mata ko. "Ikaw ang uwian ko, you're my home, baby."

"It's fine. Maybe this will help us grow.." I stopped. "Maybe, we'll be more patient and understanding. Okay lang mag-stay ka dito, I won't risk your safety just because I miss you. Umuwi ka kapag kaya mo."

He hugged me even more, tightly. "Let's tour around."

I nodded. He removed his arms around me. Lumabas kami at pumunta sa dalawang spare rooms nya. Halos wala pang gamit. He told me to bring some of my things here, para daw if maisipan kong matulog dito. I just smiled.

"The condo across this is Ethan's," he murmured against my neck. He's hugging me from my back. We decided to use his bathtub. It has a view of the busy city of Taguig. The warmth of his skin against mine always soothes me. I'm gonna miss this.

"He can manipulate the sched since they own the hospital. I can always go to you if you need me," he added. His breathing is starting to get heavy. Alam kong nararamdaman nyang medyo may pangamba ako. We memorized each other so much that even a single stare or sigh, we know what's going on.

"Duty, condo, condo mo lang ako." Biglang banggit nya. I touched his hands on my waist and gently rubbed it.

"I won't go to parties or clubs without informing you or without your consent." He uttered slowly.

He then rested his chin on my bare shoulder. The water was warm, but it's giving me a shivering effect with his assurance to me or with how he touches me. I never mentioned any of this, pero alam nyang yun ang iniisip ko. I know all his past flings or endeavours, nakita ko naman lahat yun nung hindi pa kami, maybe it's my trauma from my ex trying to unleash the paranoid me again.
