Maybe it's the different vibe of LA that speaks freedom that made me cheerful for the first week. I went to Beverly hills to shop, hike to see the Hollywood sign, drive for hours to see the long beach. Or maybe the day when I met Lance at Sta. Monica Pier two days after my arrival. Araw-araw kaming nag-aaral sa coffee shop for our finals next year. Somewhat, I'm calm.

"Your mom is nice and still pretty." I commented when I met his mom. They invited me for lunch, curious daw kasi yung mommy nya na lagi syang lumalabas para lang mag-aral.

"She is. Lahat naman sila mabait." Sagot ni Lance.

I nodded. "Even your dad and your Kuya."

Nakatambay kami sa poolside nila. We were sitting on the lounge chair that they have. Reading while looking at the calm and and serene vibe of LA's skyline. Mas malapit sa beach yung rest house nila.

One week na ring madalang tumawag si Chester dahil sobrang toxic daw. I tried hard to understand, sinasabi ko na lang na busy akong nagrereview. Which was true.

chloefrancesca: Because you rarely check your messages. Madalas naman telegram yung mga referral mo. Why are you mad anyway? Inaano ba kita? Fyi, ikaw yung hindi nagrereply ng madalas.

drakechester: Okay, I'm sorry I was busy. But, at least inform me with your plans. I booked our tickets to Paris kasi sabi mo gusto mo. Kahit one week lang kasi alam ko may exam ka. I was busy last week because I compressed my sched for our trip.

chloefrancesca: Then go. Hawak ko ba passport mo?

drakechester: Can I call?

chloefrancesca: I'm outside. Nag-aaral ako.

drakechester: Nag-aaral ka sa labas? You don't like studying outside.

chloefrancesca: Well, I like it now.

drakechester: Baby, are we okay?

drakechester: Let's talk when you're home. Uuwi na lang ako sa bahay. I'll just re-booked it.
