The doctor leaves and Vivian couldn't help, throw aside the comforter and rush towards a mirror in the corner.

The throbbing in her head, no longer bothering her.
As a new fear has shaken her insides.

Her eyes widen as she stared at herself.

Her fingers trembling as they traced her reflection in the mirror.

The scar

It was looking like new, raw and visible without any veils of foundation.
She couldn't stop the tears, that leave her eyes.

Closing them, she couldn't hide it any longer now.

"The doctor's...they had to clean your face to clean the blood trails."

She hears his voice from behind and her fists clench in front of her.
Not daring to look at him to meet his eye.

Her mind too numb to interpret anything. And her legs struggling to stand...it seems the effect of anaesthesia has still not worn off completely.

Before she could fall back, a strong grip on her waist from behind steadied her.
The cologne telling her it was Ethan that held her.

"It's fine. I got you."

His hands were interlocked in front of her waist. And he held them.

"Ethan... please. Just leave me alone."

He doesn't say anything. Instead placing his chin on her shoulder.
He whispers while staring at their reflection in the mirror.

"When were you going to tell me Vivian?"

She opens her eyes, to have her green eyes lock with his brown ones in the mirror.

Her grip on his hand tightening.

"Or were you planning on hiding it forever?"

She lowers her eyes, not willing to answer. To only have  him turn her around and hold her face in his palms.

"Vivian? Tell me."

He says softly. His touch gentle like she may break under it.

"What was the use Ethan. You would still hate me. Wouldn't you?

His expression changes ,her words hurting him like he never thought they would.

"You will still hate me and even consider me ugly."

"No Viv-"

"No Ethan instead you should be happy...you should be happy that I got back what I gave. You should be happy that I was punished!"

She pushes him back, with the little strength left in her body. But he refuses to let go, holding her tightly from behind.

Sniffing her hair, her fragrance soothing his chaotic mind.

"Ethan."

She says sternly ,to only have his grip tighten on her instead. She sighs, clenching her fists.

"Is it from that night?"

He asks and she knew this was coming.

"Not now Ethan..."

"Please."

He pleads and she finally answers.

"Yes"

Was all she could said. Making him move her hair to a side and his breath to hit her shoulder.

"Is this why you refused to shoot ?"
