When We Met ❤️

Pool of confusion

Varun took Sanjana to the nearby hospital. It was a travel of 15 mins by auto and all the way he was sobbing like a child. He had been talking to her and praying to God. His complete focus was on her, he wanted her to be back to normal. He never thought, he would cry for a girl whom he barely knew. He had met her, he had talked to her, he had argued with her, he had admired her but knew nothing about her except her name.

But he was least bothered to dig about the reason for his behavior, all he wanted was to see her awake. He admitted her in the hospital and finished the admission procedures. The doctor examined her and came out to meet him after few minutes.

Varun : Hello Doctor. How is she doing now?

Doctor : Hello Sir . Are you the one who has come with the patient.

Varun : Yes Sir, I'm varun. Sanjana's friend. How is she doing sir? What happened to her ? Anything serious ? She had fainted and fell on the ground, any internal damage? Medulla oblongata la adi pattu irukka ?

Doctor laughed at his last question: Varun... Calm down. Are you a movie buff ? Don't worry, She won't behave like Vijay Sethupathi... Ha ha.. She is all fine now. She has low BP and low sugar. She might be skipping meals I guess, she is very weak. Have prescribed drips and few other medicines. She is sleeping now. She will wake up in couple of hours. You can give her food after that. And meet me once she is back to conscious.

Varun felt relived and thanked the doctor. He peeked into the room to check her and found her sleeping. So he decided to pick up his bike from the travels office where he left in the parking lot. When he was about to move out of the room, he heard a mobile ringtone and it was hers. He missed the call and decided to take her things with him just for the safety of her items. While he was on his way to pick up the bike and while returning back to hospital , her phone kept ringing. After missing close to 15 calls he finally answered one and returned back to hospital.

After two hours, he reached the hospital and found her still sleeping. So he remained seated next to her and decided to stay with her till she is up. After few minutes, she slowly opened her eyes and observed the surroundings and tried to stand up, but she felt too dizzy and lost her balance. She was securely held back by a pair of warm hands and she found it to be Varun.

Sanjana : Varun ... What are you doing with me ? Where am I now ?

She sounded so low and weak, but he could sense a fear and confusion in her eyes.

Varun : Sanjana . Calm down.. You are in hospital, you fainted in the roadside, I happened to see you and brought you here.

Sanjana : Since how long am I here ? I was on my way back to my PG, why did you come there? She sounded so restless and perplexed.

Varun : First calm down. Nothing bad has happened to you. Especially I dint do anything to you, I just helped you, He replied sensing her insecurity.

Sanjana found him offended and replied back : Sorry Varun. I dint mean to hurt you. I just spoke out of my mind.

Varun : It's okay. It happens . Don't panic. You have been here in the hospital for close to 4 hours. I found you near the parking lot of *** travels office. You were lying unconscious, so I brought you here. He hided the  crowds behavior and his emotions to just not to mess her more.

Sanjana : Thank you so much. it's indeed a nice gesture of you to help me even after my rude behavior.

Varun : Oh please, you weren't rude. It was me who acted stupid towards you. I'm so happy that I could help you in a crisis. I'm so sorry for my early behavior. I know that this is not the time or place to ask for an apology. But I felt asking to you.

You need not to accept it just because I helped you. You take your time and talk to me only when you feel me sorry. I won't use this situation to manipulate your mind.

Sanjana just Hmmed in response.

Varun : I will inform the doctor that you are up. Stay here and don't try to move. Okay ?

Sanjana smiled in response and said okay.

They met the doctor and he instructed her about the diet and medications and asked her to take good food and rest for couple of days. He asked her to meet after 4 days. Varun and Sanjana thanked the doctor and was about to return that's when the reality irked her.

Where would she go now ? It's almost 11 in the night. The PG would be closed for sure. The only known person of her in Chennai was her cousin but even she wasn't in town. She was staring with a blank face and that's when she received a phone call. Upon seeing the display of the phone she was quite tensed. It was her parents. What would she tell them now. They might have called her for so long. There were n number of questions popping out of her mind. To just disturb the question from within her, varun snatched the phone from her and began to talk.

Varun : Haan... Hello Uncle. She is up. We spoke to the doctor as well, she just needs food and rest.

Sanjana's Dad : Thank you so much Varun for your timely help. It really means a lot. What is she doing now ? Can I talk to her ?

Varun : No need to thank me uncle. It's okay. Yeah, Sanju is in the restroom, will tell her to call you back, he effortlessly lied making Sanju furrow her eyebrows in confusion.

How did Varun know Sanju's Father ?
How Sanju's father was talking comfortably with varun  rather than treating him as a stranger  who has helped his daughter?
Why did varun lie ? Why did he not allow Sanju to talk to his dad ?
