The next day, I assigned the farming tasks. Aubrey, Carson, Max, and Emma were the main farmers. Mitch's and Ruby's jobs were to help farm in the small farm next to the house. They were happy that they got a job. I also assigned Adam and Cleo to help farm with the other, older kids. I kept Adam and Cleo together because Cleo is mute, which means she can't talk so Adam translates for her.

After breakfast, I went out and helped the farmers plant their crops. We were planting tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, lettuce, wheat, and a couple of trees. The trees we were planting were apple, orange, banana, and lemon trees.

After I helped plant the wheat, which took up half the farm, I went over and helped Jim. Jim was the blacksmith. Right now, he was making iron armor for everyone. I told him to do this because Karly said the dragon hybrids had chain mill armor so I wanted our group to have better armor than them.

"How's it going?" I asked.

Jim looked up from cooling a chest plate. His face was black with soot and his apron already had burn marks and was covered with a layer of soot. He has been working sense dawn.

"Good. This is my fourth set I have made so far." He answered.

"That's great!" I purred.

"Yea. I'm working on the faith one now." He told me. He grabbed more iron and started to heat it up.

"Okay. I'll leave you to it then. Do you want me to help or get help for you?" I asked.

"Yea. Could you get someone to help me please? I don't know if your busy or not." He answered.

"I'm not busy. What do you need help with?" I said.

I then spent about an hour helping him. I helped him heat up the iron and shape it into the armor. I also helped him make new tools that we needed. We made swords for the hybrids without claws and shields for everyone. We stopped at lunch time to eat.

After lunch, we started to make iron arrows, bows, and other long range weapons. We made ammunition to go with these weapons too. Once those were finished, we walked out to help with the building of the watch towers.

One tower was a couple feet behind the blacksmith, another behind the glass barn, and two others were 3 yards away from the main house. We walked to the one behind the blacksmith. The people building that were Aubrey, Max, Luke, Cali, and Kyle. They were making good progress. They had the base done and was almost half way complete.

"Do you guys need any help?" I asked.

Kyle handed the stone he was holding to Luke before turning to us. "I think we are good here, thanks." He answered. His head was beaded with sweat.

"Okay. Your welcome." Jim answered.

We asked the same thing to the people building the one near the barn and the one to the left of the house and they gave the same answer. Karly, Chase, Fang, Rick, and Carson were working on the one near the barn. The people working on the one to the left of the house were Emma, Davis, Abe, Amanda, and Tyler. We walked to the fourth tower, the one to the right of the building. Blizzard, Lilly, and Andrew were working on this one.

"Hello. Do you need any help?" I asked.

Lilly was the one to answer. "Yes we do. Thank you." She said.

"Okay. What do you need help with?" Jim asked.

We then helped them build up the tower. All the towers were built with the same thing, stone bricks. Any other material was too expensive. We were a little more than half way through before we got interrupted.

"Hello?" I heard someone say.

I looked down the wall of the building and saw a brown bunny hybrid looking up at me. I narrowed my eyes and saw that she had brown eyes. She looked familiar. Next to her was a light grey horse hybrid. He had blue eyes.

"I'll be back." I told the people as I decended the stairs.

I walked out of the tower and stopped in front of the two hybrids.

"A-Ande?" The bunny asked. She seemed familiar. Suddenly, it clicked.

"Mom?" I asked.

"Ande! It is you!" She cried happily. She then ran over and hugged me.

"Mom!" I purred, hugging her back.

"I'm so glad your safe." She acknowledged, pulling away. "What happened to your face?" She gasped.

"A hawk hybrid clawed my face. But that doesn't matter. I thought you were dead!" I finished.

"I only fainted. When I regained consciousness, I was in a tent. The medic there introduced me to her leader. He was an orange cat hybrid. I told him I had to go find you and if he finds you to tell you 'I'm not the only one' in hopes that you would understand the message. I then walked through the forest looking for you." She explained.

"That orange cat was Flame." I corrected her.

"Right. How is he?" She asked.

"He's dead. Coal killed him. When I found out, I killed Coal in revenge." I answered.

"Oh." She sighed.

"Now that that's explained, who is the horse hybrid?" I asked, changing the subject.

"His name is Ulysses. I found him in the woods with a big cut on his right side and saved him." My mom explained.

I nodded. "Do you guys want to stay here? We have room." I offered. They both agreed. "Great! Follow me." I purred.

I walked into the house and have them rooms in the new hallway. We would need to expand soon. Again. I told them before they went inside to met me at the tower they saw me at in the first place.

When they came out, I told them the work schedules and told them that right now they help build the towers. Jim and I went back and build two more armor sets and shields. At dinner, I introduced my mom and Ulysses to the group. My mom and Karly hugged for a minute before I continued the meeting.

"The progress on the towers is going great. Nice work. Jim and I made everyone armor and shields. All we need now is a symbol for our group. Any suggestions?" I finished.

"How about a paw print and each of the claws is two other animal foot prints?" Kyle suggested.

"Good idea. Can you draw that after dinner? Thank you. Any others?" I praised. No one answered.

"Okay then. Meeting dismissed." I finished.

After dinner, Kyle drew the symbol and handed it to me. It looked great. He drew the other hybrid footprints that weren't a dog or cat for the claws, two per toe. He also did some for the claws. This was inside a police badge shape.

We went to bed at the normal time. I was happy that I had my mom back. Tomorrow, I was going to help Jim paint the symbol on the chest plate and the shield.
