POV Kang Sae Byeok

"Player 115, eliminated. Player 004, pass"

I breathed a sigh of relief. I was afraid for a brief moment it would have been y/n. I heard her screaming loudly earlier, I hope she didn't hurt herself badly.

"Where are you," I muttered to myself and climbed over a thick tree trunk.

Here, everything had grown together, it would be hard to fight someone here. My partner 412 didn't look particularly athletic, so he probably didn't get far.

I was sure that he ran in this direction, the prints from his shoes gave him away. 115 had run barefoot, and from the other direction came the scream of y/n. So 412 had to be this way. And definitely not that far.

"Players, you have only 12 minutes left"

12 minutes, I can do that. If I were an older man, where would I hide? Men are not the brightest in the head, especially when it came to money. The first thing that came to mind was the logs. Maybe he had crawled through them?

I looked in everyone near me, but there was no one. Even as I walked along, I looked in every one that passed by, but he wasn't there either.

Where else would I hide? Not behind the trees, even the stupidest person in this world wouldn't do that.

On the right, near me, a tiny river was flowing. To the left was a huge field. That was almost too easy.

Arriving at the stream, I noticed that on the other side the little stones were wet in a certain place. Either he wasn't thinking properly, or he was leading me into a trap. Since the stones still looked quite freshly wet and had not been dried by the hot sun, he was not far away. So he had left his hiding place and had run on.

I quickly waded over and held the revolver ready to fire. I had never shot a person before, I didn't know if I could do it at all without hesitation. I showed everyone that I was strong so they would leave me alone and get around me right away, but I was only human. A young woman who needs someone in her life to survive. Someone like y/n.

"Gotcha"

I pointed my gun at 420 on the ground next to me. He had buried himself completely in foliage.
How did I know?
I stepped on his hand and broke it.
Everyone recognizes the sound of breaking bones, something like that didn't belong in the forest.

The leaves did not move and I looked down more closely. I knew it, his nose looked out, so that he got enough air.

"Do I have to clean up the leaves or do you volunteer to do it yourself?"

"Please...please don't kill me," it sounded muffled, and his hands rose from the pile of leaves with his upper body. He looked me in the eyes with agony, his head red from the heat.

"Only one can win in this game, the hider or the seeker," I made my voice sound as cold as possible.

Then a shot.

But not from me.

My mouth opened in shock and my heart stopped.

I listened. Nothing. No one was eliminated.
Y/n was not eliminated.

"You two love each other, don't you?" the man now asked from the ground. I looked at him sharply.

"What?"

"What I mean is that she's damn important to you. I saw that just now in your look, and also earlier when you saw that she also has to hide. Also, in the rest of the games, I saw the concern in your eyes every time you looked at her."

"You're pretty good at observation"

"But pretty bad at hiding," the man laughed, at least he had a sense of humor.

"Just don't make the mistake I made, child. You are still very young. You both are still very young. You should both get out of this game," he held out his hand and looked at me.

"Give it to me"

"The revolver?"

"What else girl"

"That wouldn't be fair!"

"Nothing is fair in life. Nothing was fair, nothing is fair, and nothing will be fair"

"I...no I can't!"

"Players, 3 minutes left!"

"Now give it to me!" he shouted angrily and scrambled forward, but I stepped back. What was I doing?!

"Do you want to die girl?! I'll do you the favor of making it easier for you and taking my own life!"

"Are you really that desperate to take your own life?!"

He sighed and stood up, then looked at me seriously.

"Child. I have lived, laughed, played and loved. Now it is your turn. Most of my life is over, but you still have everything ahead of you. Use it. Use it with your love," again he stretched out his hand, this time I gave it to him.

He nodded and held the gun to his head.

"Thank you"

I bowed to him, then he shot.

"Player 412, eliminated. Player 067, pass"

Without looking at 412's lifeless body, I turned and walked back to the tiny river.

"Players, you have one minute left"

You can do this y/n, one more minute and Adriana is out.

Then I heard a scream. It came from Y/n.

"Y/n...Y/N!", I yelled and started running.

But one sentence made me freeze in the middle of the stream.

"Player 199, eliminated"
