"Ah, there you are! Any later and I'd have thought you disappeared." Kaeya greeted you.

"It's not that easy to get rid of me." You walked past him, kneeling beside a flaming flower. "Think of me like those dandelions your nation cherishes so much."

"Parasitical?"

You smirked. "Something like that." Now slightly warmer, you stood, making your way over to him as he turned his gaze towards the temple.

"Do you smell that?"

You lifted your nose to the air, catching the scent of pyro slimes. It was unmistakable. But it wouldn't hurt to play around~

"Pine."

He shifted his attention to you, waiting for an elaboration. You gave him a coy smile. "You smell like pine." Kaeya chuckled. "Why, I didn't think you'd notice~ You're quite the interesting character, L/N."

"Come on! We're not frozen in place after all."

You mocked his words inwardly. Boy, if you knew.

Kaeya swiftly froze the flamethrower's core. You stood back with your arms crossed, examining his movements, clothing, and features. There was a short streak of lighter blue in his hair. He had a black eyepatch with gold trim over his right eye, a long, navy rat's tail coming along his left side. The eye you could see was a fine mix of lilac and blue. Periwinkle. As for his outfit, it was....... chaotic, to say the least. Blue, black, white, gold. He had a corset around his waist, black, golden diamond studded gloves, with a fur cape draped around his shoulders. It looks really fluffy.

His vision hung by his side, cryo. Though, something was a bit off about it.

"Staring?"

"Observing." You retorted.

He shrugged. "Are you gonna pass through, or do I have to freeze it again?" You walked past him to the next core. "Why freeze it temporarily," Your blade crackled with electricity. Shoving it into the mechanism, it sparked and died. "If you can destroy it completely?"

Kaeya smirked. "An oversight on my part I suppose."

The two of you continued through the temple, coming across a small group of hilichurls with exploding slime barrels. 

"My first chance to fight alongside you." Kaeya remarked. "Think we'll make a good team?"

"Sure. If I don't get to them first." You ran ahead, drawing their attention. "Think fast." You cut them down with your two blades, hacking and slashing, careful to avoid the barrels. You finished in less than a minute.

A thoughtful hum could be heard from behind you. "I've never met a dual wielder before." You laughed. "I'm good, right?" Passing through the door, you didn't wait for Kaeya to catch up.

The next group of hilichurls were standing ankle-deep in water. A slight disadvantage to you, as you would be shocking yourself. The consequences wouldn't be grave, however, since you've been training for these kinds of situations. 

"My turn." You heard, as you caught a glimpse of Kaeya rushing past you. He froze the monsters effortlessly, before they could even utter their usual battle cry. Shattering them with a slash of his sword, you smiled. A little competition was fun with someone on par with your capabilities.

"What do you think? Not bad?" He asked, with his arms open. You took on a playful demeanor. "I think you can do better~"

The rest of the run was a blur. It was certainly faster than the first time. Probably because you were carrying a deadweight.

"You know, you'd make a good knight." Kaeya said as you destroyed the crystal in the last room. "Only good?" You turned to face him. He smirked. "You aren't very modest, are you?" He chuckled. "If you decide to stay a bit longer, you should stop by headquarters. I also know a lovely tavern, if that's more your thing."

Your smile was replaced with a look of scorn. "Please. There's nothing to keep me here once I'm done with you." You looked him over once more. "Though, you are pretty."

He cocked his head. "Oh? Is that so~"

You gave him one more smirk before you turned to go. "I'll see you around,"

"Pretty boy."
