You sat on a nearby log, waiting. Your mouth tasted like dirt. Being in the dark brought unpleasant memories. Hugging your knees to your chest, you made a mental note to find and skewer the creature that stole your food. Crickets chirped as a light breeze blew by."Barbatos."
"Venti, please." He answered. You dismissed his reply. "Your distraction wasn't good enough." "Oh. Well I'm sorry that I couldn't even get my mouth open to keep him there. Even if I was conscious enough to hear his footsteps, I should've pushed him inside the infirmary and locked the door." The cheerful tone was dripping with sarcasm.
Quick as lightning, you shot up, grabbing him by the chin. "I would prove your worth if I were you, little bard. Before I send you back to the Cathedral." Venti gave you a nonchalant look. "How are you going to do that? Disappear?" He giggled. "I won't fall for that method again."
You sneered, gently cupping his cheek. "Don't worry, I won't use the same method twice."

You hung around the restaurant in Mondstadt, Good Hunter, attempting to get a decent meal. You'd barely slept, but that didn't matter. It's not like you ever had a good sleep anyway.
You paid for a couple of hashbrowns, though that would take a toll on your wallet. Soon. Heaving a sigh, you turned around only to get knocked down. You landed with a slight oof, looking up at your assailant.
"Oh my Archons, I'm so sorry!" She was a young girl with short, platinum blonde hair and peridot eyes. She was wearing.... an armored dress? She lifted you up, attempting to dust you off like you were a precious book she had dropped. "Are you okay? Are you hurt? I'm sorry! I was in such a rush that I didn't-"
You cut her off before she could say any more. "I'm fine. Where were you going?"
The girl blushed a little, "A-ah, I was doing some commissions. It's the only way I'll ever become a real knight." This piqued your curiosity. "Oh? Are you not one then?" She shook her head. "Just a maid, currently. That's why I need to work harder and train out in the field!"
Really, you weren't fond of overly enthusiastic people. They were a pain to deal with. But a maid for the Knights of Favonius...
You smiled, holding out your hand. "I'm L/N." The other girl practically beamed. She took your hand, gently, but firmly, shaking it. "Noelle." You chuckled, withdrawing your hand. "Well, I'm sure you have some commissions to finish up, right?" "Ah yes!" Noelle quickly said her goodbyes and rushed off.
By now your food was all but ruined, but perhaps your chance encounter would prove to be worth it.
Your feeling of elation didn't last long though. From the corner of your eye, you sighted a familiar blue haired figure ducking behind a building. Now this is getting intriguing. You followed his steps lightly, careful with your distancing.
"Ah, Vile." Kaeya acknowledged a female with light brown hair and clothes to match. "Have you done what I asked?" Vile nodded. "Rudolf is on his way to the church now." He smirked. "Excellent. Now all we have to do, is wait."
You didn't stick around for more. You had a name, and a destination. Surely the rest won't be that hard. By the church, a bearded man paced at the entrance. A sister approached him, so you hung back.
"Is everything alright Rudolf?" He shook his head, muttering, "Fine. I'm fine." The nun didn't seem very convinced, but she took her leave. You waited a few seconds before going up to him. "Rudolf?" Rudolf stopped, looking at you. "You're that girl."
You blinked. You were expecting something more like, Do you know me? You gave him a curt nod instead. "I believe you received something from Vile...?" You trailed off, as he took out a small, brown coin from his pocket, engraved with a raven. A Treasure Hoarder insignia.
"Jilliana ran off into the woods when I showed her this. Was it not to her liking?" Rudolf continued mumbling to himself, but you'd already left. The woods. You knew where that was.
If you played this right, it would make your life a whole lot easier.
