social media + real life

most people would assume that being a content creator would be an easy job, you just sit at a desk and record yourself right? vanessa eden harrison learnt the hard way that it wasn't always the case.

throughout her small time of being 'well known' on the internet, shes been met with both negative and positive comments about her regardless of what she did or created. although she thought she'd get away with a little bit of freedom with her face hidden from the public eye, over time it only seemed to worsen as the more people decided to hate on her.

she'd originally hidden her face for privacy, which later turned to hatred for her own body and features, but now it seemed more of a chore and job in itself to keep her own identity away from prying eyes. plus she hated having to hide from her own best friends vlogs, which was frequently.

eden always has the constant fear of someone finding her old school yearbook, or her mums facebook. she was thankful enough that no one had found or leaked her address in the years she'd lived with bri.

all of which came down to one tweet she made at 4am after going back and forth with herself in the mirror, trying to convince herself this was the right thing to do.

she knew the tweet would inevitably get around to people who weren't on her small private account, and although that was the case, she didn't really mind everyone speculating what was coming in only three days.

and so when she woke up on august 7th, and she was already trending, she knew she couldn't back out and make any excuses now.
