over the span of the past three weeks, clay had stuck to his promise he made to himself and eden had never felt more loved. not only did he want to make up for lost time, but to make up for his mistakes. he knows he fucked up, and he knows eden wouldn't completely forgive him immediately for neglecting his girlfriend and her feelings, but things were beginning to look up for the couple.

halloween was only one day away, and although she knew they weren't doing anything special, eden was excited. it was her favourite holiday after all.

"so what are we going as?" clay asked eden, his arm wrapped around her shoulder as they watched netflix.

"we?" eden smirked, "i didn't know you wanted to dress up."

clays cheeks burned, "i- well, y'know. halloween is your favourite so i assumed you wanted to dress up. i thought maybe we could match."

"you're so cute," eden nudged his side, "i'll think of something."

"hey," clay's hand cupped her cheek, his eyes staring into hers, "i love you."

"i love you too." eden smiled, bringing him into a chaste kiss.

the pair had been sharing those three words as much as they could over the past weeks, always at the end of clays tongue when he looked at her. it was all he could think about. as soon as he accepted the fact he was in love with the brunette girl in his arms, he couldn't stop. her tattooed arms wrapped around his bicep as they sat in comfortable silence. he didn't want this to end.
