Part 15

You walk down the stairs to see Tony, Sam, and Steve had come back from their follow up mission.
"Hey. How'd it go?" You ask.
"We found out where Perez is hiding out." Steve adds.
"So we will need everyone for this mission." Tony says in a serious tone as Bucky walks in.
"That means you too." Steve says gesturing to Bucky.
Steve continues to talk as you meet Bucky's gaze and he smiles as he notices you are already wearing his red shirt he left in your room. Trying not to blush you look away.
"Y/n?" Steve says as you snap back to reality and look up at him.
"Yea." You quickly say.
"Happy should be back shortly." Tony says and you nod in confusion since you missed what they were saying a second ago.
"So you will stay here with Peter while the 4 of us go..." Steve continues but you interrupt him.
"Hold on, who's Peter? And what about Nat?" You ask rudely with an attitude.
"I'm Peter." Someone says from the elevator doors. Everyone turns to see Happy standing next to a teenage boy with a backpack who looks lost.
"I'm sorry... you want me to stay here, with him? I'm better off with Bucky." You say and Bucky snickers behind you.
"Don't be rude y/n. We need Bucky on this mission and I don't want you to be alone by yourself here." Tony says.
"Why? You think I need some 15 year old to protect me? Why because he's a guy, and I'm what..? You precious little sister who can't take care of herself?" You say shocked and angrily.
"I just want to make sure your safe."
"I can protect myself. Who even is this kid anyway?" You say louder.
"I'm actually 17 and I'm Spider-Man." Peter says sheepishly as if he's scared to speak up.
"Oh my god. You want a teenager to babysit me? I'm 24 years old. I can take care of myself if you hadn't noticed. I've been doing it since I was 17 years old. I took care of myself when our parents died because you were off god knows where. You weren't there for me before, so why do you care so much now?!" You say holding back tears of anger.
"I know and I'm sorry y/n. I'm trying my best to keep you safe." Tony says upset.
"She's right Tony. Y/n doesn't need to be looked after. She can take care of herself." Bucky adds and steps closer. The look on Tony's face was pure rage.
"Stay out of this soldier." Tony says.
"Why are you getting mad at him? He's the one who trained me while you weren't here. You are never here. You don't know what I can do." You say. You can feel your heart racing. You can sense Bucky is only a few feet behind you as he's ready to fight Tony if necessary.
Tony looks at you with pain and sorrow in his eyes. You know that he regrets not being there for you when you were grieving. But there's nothing he can do change the past.
"We just don't want to leave you here alone. What if Perez has something else up his sleeve?" Steve adds, taking Tony's side.
"What if I go with you? The more people the better right?"
"Hell no!" Bucky adds loudly and takes a few steps closer and is now standing beside you facing Steve and Tony while Peter and Happy are still standing in the back by the elevator.
"Oh come on! I'm not a child! They aren't aliens, or robots. They are after me... so lefts give them what they want..." you say as an idea pops into your head and Tony can see what you are thinking.
"We are not using you as bait." Tony says immediately.
"Why not? It's the perfect plan."
"No. End of discussion." Tony says.
You feel so much anger you need to walk away before you say something you regret. But before you walk out you decide to speak up. "You are not dad, and you sure as hell not the boss of me. No one is."
You walk into your room slamming the door behind you. In frustration you punch the wall leaving a hole.
"Who the fuck do they think I am? A child?" You say to yourself as you pace back and Fort trying to calm down. You walk to your window and stare outside to see that's it's dark and the stars are out.
"Mom? What should I do? I can't keep hiding here. I feeling like I'm a prisoner, like a sitting duck..." you say and feel a few tears fall down your check and quickly wipe them away.
