Sophie and Nick hurried up cleaning the house.

Sophie: I can't believe you're just now telling me dad was coming over to visit
Nick: I'm sorry I didn't know he was dropping in as a surprise
Joe: girls I said no
Kristy: oh come on Joe, it's only for one day. Plus it's your fault that you grounded all of us together

Joe gives Kristy's look and said.

Joe: Kristen... I am no mood to deal with your bad attitude so please back off unless you want to extended it longer
Riley: thanks a lot Kristy
Kristy: well you guys are the ones that wanted me to tell him
Joe: *ignores them* I made a list of all your chores to do before school starts next week.

Joe hands all four of them each a white paper that has their chores.

Joe: if any of your chores are not done by the end of the day there will be consequences. There are no excuses girls. I'm disappointed in all of you, never in my life have you guys ever been in trouble together. *points at Kristy and Claudia* You two for going to an underrated movie together and *points to Riley and Mads* and you two for your constant lying fib
Claudia: I don't understand why I'm grounded, your not even my brother
Joe: I'm sorry but who was the one that flew you out here so you can stay in my house until school starts
Claudia: Kristy
Kristy: *laughs, sees look* sorry it's true tho Joe
Nick: What's going on?
Joe: giving the girls their chores
Nick: now? My dad on his way over
Joe: now? When were you going to tell us?
Nick: Sophie and I just found out today, he's on his way now
???: I'm already here
Nick: Dad, what are you doing here? I thought we were going to pick you up at the airport
Andrew: I did call son, but someone was supposed to give you the message *gives look to Riley*

Nick turns to who he was looking at and put hands on hip and sighs.

Riley: *nervous laugh* oh right... Nick, I forgot to tell you your dad was arriving early...
Nick: yeah thanks

The family was eating lunch as Kristy was serving everyone.

Andrew: lunch is lovely Kristy
Sophie: yeah it's amazing Kristy
Kristy: *smiles* thanks Mr. Turner and Sophie. Joe, you should ground me more often, who knew I would have a niche for cooking
Joe: *not in the mood and raise eyebrow* don't tempt me
Andrew: grounded? What is exactly she grounded for?
Joe: all of them are grounded sir
Andrew: I leave you with these kids and they're already starting trouble
Joe: You left them with me? If I recall, my parents were the one that put me in their will to take care of them, not you. So I don't need your input on how I should raise my sisters
Andrew: You weren't even going to stay. You were going to leave those girls behind and go live out your rock star fantasy and not look back on your family

All three girls stood silent as did Joe
Andrew: Joe, I'm...

Joe shook his head and got up and left.

Nick: dad! How could you say that! You know how sensitive he can be! And we are just doing fine on our own. So what if the girls get in trouble, it's what kids/teenagers do, and the two of us-
Sophie: ahem...
Nick: 3 of us... keep them in line when they screw up
Andrew: All I know is, those girls have never been in trouble when their dad was alive. I don't know what's going on
Kristy: Actually that's a complete lie sir. We may have been the perfect daughters to the town , but behind the scenes I was being difficult with my parents. They were not perfect and neither was Joe. Yes Joe makes mistakes when he is parenting us, but at least he's trying. He shouldn't be the only one getting grief either
Riley: Yeah, Joe's been a great big brother. Sure we give him a hard time sometimes, but what sisters don't
Andrew: Sophie... back me up here...
Sophie: Sorry dad, I agree with them. Plus Joe's a great brother to the girls
Andrew: I should probably go talk to him huh
All: yes
Andrew: fine...
Nick: girls, why don't you go do your chores
Mads: what about desert
