Chapter 18: Planning a trip to Hawaii
Joe thought the family needed a break from each other. So he decided a family vacation was needed, plus a little work on the side for DNCE.
Kristy also had an announcement about Rock Your Hair promo in Hawaii so Hayden and his family was tagging along as well. Joe wasn't thrilled with the idea because he didn't want Kristy to be working while on vacation.
Kristy: but Joe
Joe: no Kristy
Kristy: but it will be great promo for Rock Your Hair
Joe: and I don't care
Kristy: ugh! You suck *heads back outside*
Hayden: *looks up* what did he say?
Kristy: no
Hayden: why don't my parents try talking to him. I'm sure once he heard their side-
Kristy: I don't know, once Joe says no he means it. It's clear he was never okay with me being in the spotlight to begin with
Hayden: or maybe he just want the vacation to be just family time
Kristy: oh really? Then why is he doing DNCE side project on the side, he's also their for work
Hayden: well I can understand where he is coming from. Your the kid and he's the adult
Kristy: I'm almost 18, when I turn 18 he can't tell me what to do anymore
Hayden: not how it works in my family
Kristy: mines either, but it's worth a shot
Hayden: but you know what I mean Kristy
Kristy: yeah I know
Hayden: I'll convince my parents to talk to him, but if he says no
Kristy: I know
Hayden: want me to teach you how to shoot a hoop
Kristy: sure!
After Hayden left to go home to convince his parents, Kristy went to convince Nick to talk to Joe.
Kristy: Nick... so uh... Hayden's parents are going to call Joe soon and-
Nick: *making dinner in the kitchen* uh uh do not get me involved this is between you and Joe
Kristy: oh come on Nick, I thought you would at least have my back on this one
Nick: I agree with you Kristy, I don't see what's wrong with them joining us, but Joe doesn't like people that aren't family
Kristy: but your not family
Nick: seriously Kristy, you're going to use that card
Kristy: okay so maybe you're more of a family to us then they're but you know what I mean
Nick: *sighs* since this mean so much to you, I will talk to Joe
Kristy: *squeals* thanks Nick *hugs him*
Nick: that doesn't mean I said yes, so don't go telling Joe I said yes because I didn't and I will count that as playing against each other and you will be in big trouble you understand
Kristy: yes sir, I'm not going to do that ever again I learned my lesson from last time
Nick: good girl *kiss forehead* love you
Kristy: love you too Nicky
Nick, Sophie and Kristy were talking.
Nick: okay so we are going to figure out how we are going to approach this news to Joe
Kristy: its never going to work Nick, you know how Joe feels about work/family time
Sophie: isn't Joe doing both as well, so we can use that in the argument
Joe: *comes in* what's going on? Is someone in trouble, what did you do Kristy?
Kristy: me? Why do you automatic assume its me?
Joe: well you don't have amazing track record in this house sweetie
Kristy: *cross arm* well the twins aren't so prefect either Joesph
Nick: Kristy... remember why we are here
Kristy: fine... Joey, please have a seat
Joe: wait a minute, why do I feel like this is a trap
Sophie: because it is. Sit *force him down* we feel like we should have vacation with the Summerall's
Joe: Kristy...
Kristy: look Joe, I know you already told me no, but Nick and Sophie think its a great idea
Nick: Kristy! I didn't say that, I said I will talk it over with Joe first and you two aren't letting me do that
Sophie/Kristy: sorry
Joe: Nick... is there something you wanna tell me about?
Nick: *sighs* Joe as much as I don't want to go against your parenting, what's wrong with a joint family vacation
Joe: because it also involves work and I'm already stress as is with my projects
Nick: I know, but Sophie and I got it covered, is that what we are here for, to help you raised the girls
Joe: *sighs and thinks* will have dinner with Summeralls and will talk details
Kristy: *squeals* thank you Joe *hugs him* I'm going to tell Hayden the good news *leaves*
Joe: thanks for having my back guys
Sophie: Joe... we didn't mean anything by this, we just want her to be happy on vacation too
Joe: well this isn't going to be a vacation for her, she will be too busy and stress and I don't want that for her. I want her to be a kid and have fun with her family
Nick: and will find away to do both, don't you worry
Joe: well it's up to Kristy if she really wants to spend her vacation working
Kristy: I really want this Joe, really
Joe: alright, just as long as you find a way to be a kid have fun *kiss forehead*
Kristy: Joe, I'm not a kid anymore, I'm almost 18 an adult
Joe: *sighs* I know, don't remind me, you're really growing up huh
Kristy: yup I am
