Ever since the war back in August, most of the campers at camp half-blood had struggled with nightmares. Thea was not an exception.
Most nights it would be watching her loved ones die or watching camp burn. This was different.

She was standing at the edge of a pit. She tried looking for the bottom of it, but it seemed as if it went on forever. She even tried to drop a stone down it to see if she'd hear it hit the bottom.

She didn't.

All she could tell about the pit was where it was located. She was certain it was in one of the restricted sections of the underworld. The parts her father had forbidden her to visit.

She was curious. Why was she just sitting at the edge of a pit? Was there nothing else important about her dream? Normally demigod dreams would bring some form of message, but this one didn't seem to bring anything except boredom.
She wished to wake up, but before she could think of ways to force herself awake, she noticed a figure walking towards the pit.

It was a human. At least it looked like it.
No monsters looked so normal. She couldn't see who it was, but the figure was holding a sword in its hand. Something about the person was familiar as if Thea should know this person, but due to the weird settings of her dream, she couldn't move closer to them. It was as if the ground was holding her in place.

She wanted to scream out to the person, warning them that it was far to the bottom.
She didn't want anyone to have to suffer such a fall. They would be doomed. The impact would kill them unless it was enchanted in any way.

While Thea struggled with talking and moving, the pit decided to come alive. Just as the person with a sword started moving away from the darkness, it decided to take a deep breath of sorts. While Thea was stitched to the edge, the person was not.
They fell into the pit, and the only thing left to see was them trying desperately to find a grip.

They disappeared into the darkness, and Thea's body was finally able to move again. That didn't help much, as the second she managed to move away from the edge, the pit took another breath and she ended up hanging from the edge.
She knew it was just a dream, but it didn't help the panic that was bubbling in her stomach as she watched the darkness under her. Usually, darkness would be comforting, but this was anything but.

"Are you seeing this, daughter of Hades?" A female voice asked. Thea tried looking around for it, but there was nothing but darkness all around her. "This is someone's future, maybe even yours. You can prevent it."

A million questions entered the brunette's mind, but the only one she managed to voice was: "Who are you?"
It sounded stupid to her. Who would ever answer truthfully to such a question?
