Thea could see Leo looking back every five finutes. Almost as if he expected to see

those nasty sun dragons toting a flying chariot with a screaming magical saleswoman throwing potions. That would've been impossible, as one of Leo's deceased siblings had just killed ehr, but one could never be too sure about anything Greek mythology.

"Alright, now," Jason started. "Do you mind introducing the new member?"

Ally shifted in their seat. She hated confrontations.

"Oh, yeah. This is Ally. I found them hiding at Medea's. Hiding from the sorcerer," Thea said.

"She's a demigod."

"Who's her godly parent, then?" Leo asked.

Thea was about to answer, but Ally did instead

"Aphrodite. Aphrodite is my mother." She sounded more confident than they had before. As if nothing could go wrong now that the witch was dead.

"So... Does that mean you technically are Piper's sister?" The son of Hephaestus asked.

"I guess."

There was silence after that. No one said a word.

Thea was wide awake. She was exhausted, but sleep just wouldn't take her.

"Aren't you tired?" Piper whispered from behind. "That shadow thing seems pretty tiring."

Thea nodded. "Can't sleep. Too much going on."

Piper seemed to understand, because she didn't ask again.

Ally was quiet again, back to her nervous self.

Eventually, the smoke from the burning department store faded in the distance.

"Good job, Festus." Leo muttered to his dragon. He patted the dragon's metal hide. "You were awesome."

The dragon shuddered. Gears popped and clicked in his neck.

"Que mejor no sean malos ruidos, Valdez." Thea said. The son of Hephaestus didn't even turn around when he answered.

"Esperemos que no."

"You've earned some motor oil and Tabasco sauce," Leo said. Festus whirled his teeth, but even that sounded weak. He flew at a steady pace, his great wings angling to catch the wind, but he was carrying a heavy load. Two cages in his claws plus five people on his back - the more Thea thought about it, the more worried he got. Even metal dragons had limits.

"Leo," Piper spoke up from the back. "You feeling okay?"

"Yeah ... not bad for a brainwashed zombie. Thanks for saving us back there, beauty queen. If you hadn't talked me out of that spell -"
