.. -. - ---

Thea hardly got a wink of sleep that night. After spending the first half freaking out in her cabin she'd gone above deck (making sure to stay out of Hedge's sight) and freaked out more to Leo who was steering the ship (Jason would force him to sleep as soon as the sun came up).

Leo didn't seem all that surprised with her revealed crush on his best friend, but he did his best to calm her down (read: tried his best not to laugh as she paced the deck behind him). So in the end, she left him there for Jason to deal with later while she hid in her room.
She had a mini-heart attack when a door opened as she was walking by, but luckily it was only Annabeth, and not Hedge (or Piper).

Back in her room, she tried to Iris-message Marielle to go through the event one more time (it was seriously running her to the ground) but there wasn't exactly much light to create a rainbow in the middle of the night so that plan went right out the window before she could even think properly about it.

What even was properly thinking anyway?

It was not until morning - and that would be when everyone else was getting ready for breakfast - that Thea got up (fighting through her sleepy state) and took a quick shower. When she got dressed and left her cabin, Hazel stood outside.
"You haven't slept at all, have you?"

Thea tried to think of an excuse. She wouldn't go out pronouncing her love for Piper to the whole ship - especially considering she hadn't properly realised she was even in love with her until it was said out loud to the daughter of Aphrodite herself.

"Nightmares," she muttered. It was the most believable excuse she could come up with, for it could've easily been a truth. Had Thea not been awake at night, the recent events and talks likely would've brought her back to the pit - and that was enough to keep her up anyway.

Maybe it would've been better had she just told Piper about her trip to hell instead. At least then they could've remained friends. There was no way they could still be close after the stunt she just pulled.

Hazel didn't see the lie, so it must've been believable enough. The dark-skinned daughter of Pluto gave her a sympathetic look before explaining that Percy and Annabeth were gone. Thea offered to help look (as if it had been a choice) and ended up joining team with her sister's boyfriend to look in the stables.

Now, Thea was the last one to see them, but she'd decided that wasn't something she needed to tell the others as that would lead to questions on why she was awake herself. So she just strolled the halls, just as clueless as the rest.
