Jason's p.o.v.

"Hey, Jace! How was your day?" My older brother's best friend, Asher, asked as I walked in the door. Let me tell you, he is not your stereotypical best friend of the previous star quarterback. He is smart, keeps my brother in line, and was 'the nerd' and valedictorian when they graduated last year. He is 5'8, wears contacts or glasses early in the morning, has short curly midnight black hair, has the bluest eyes anyone has ever seen, and is the sweetest guy and also overprotective of anyone that gets close to him.

"It was okay, but I think I did well on my exam... Thanks for helping me study." I said 

"It was a pleasure to help." He said smiling as I sat down next to him

"Where's Max?" I asked 

"I think he said he went over to Trina's," he said 

"Okay," I said

"Do you think I embarrass him? He never wants to hang out unless it's here or my house." He asked 

"What?! No. If that's the case then I'll beat his ass for you, okay? You are not an embarrassment Ash." I said hugging him

"Thanks, Jace," he said hugging me back

"Um, Ash?" I asked

"yeah?" He said turning to look at me while I spoke

"Can I tell you something.. I haven't told anyone else...." I asked

"Anything. Always. You know that" he said smiling at me

"I...  I think I'm gay" I said and the next thing I know he was hugging me tighter and almost to the point where he was in my lap.

"You know, your very brave Jace," he said 

"How so?" I asked

"I've never told anyone either.. and I've known for years," he said

"Wait. Y-You are?" I asked stuttering my words a bit as he nods his head. "So, not even my brother knows?" I asked

"N-no," he said

"Oh, so we can tell him together and if he doesn't like it then I'll beat his ass," I said

"You just really want to beat Max don't you," He said and made a giggly laugh that made me smile.

"How are you this adorable?" I thought I said in my head, but when his eyes slowly met mine.

"I- I'm so-" I started but the next thing I know his lips were on mine, softly. He pulled away with a bright blush on his face and his breathing was starting to get heavier. 

"So.. um." he started but was trying to process what he just did and by the look on his face why I hadn't pushed him away.

"I like you, Ash. I have for a while." I said

"W-wait.. r-really? You? Like me?" he asked looking adorably shocked

"Yeah," I said

"You're not like pulling my leg or anything? You're serious Jason?" He said

"Yes Asher, I'm dead serious," I said and kissed him. It started out small and sweet and as we both got into it he ended up on my lap, straddling me. His hands lightly danced in my hair as I held his waist close to me. We were in our own little bubble that neither of us heard the front door open.

"Hey Ja-" Max started and we both jumped apart, out of breath, and honestly I was terrified.

"Max! I was just asking Ash where you ran off too" I said
