[on the beach at night | nagito k | hajime h ]

part 21 | new island

You went and sat next to Hajime, Ibuki joining you, full of excitement. You laid your head on Hajime's shoulder and closed your eyes, yawning dramatically. 

His shoulders tensed and he looked down at you, an awkward smile on his face.

"What?" You asked, taking your head off of his shoulder, looking at him curiously.

"I'm gonna go talk too uhhhh...KAZUICHI! Yea, Ibuki will catch you later Y/N!" Ibuki exclaimed, rushing over to Kazuichi's table.

You looked at Hajime and laughed, realizing Ibuki had gone because you and Hajime were having a "moment".

"So, what're you doing today?"

"Well, Sonia invited the girls to a girls-only beach thing on the new island so most of us are going to visit it today!" 

"Cool! Kinda sounds like what Kazuichi mentioned to me, he asked if I would go with him.."

"Did you say yes?" 

"..."

"Did you, perv?"

"Yes! I mean, n-no! Yes?! And I'm not a perv!" Hajime exclaimed in a panic, his face becoming extremely red.

"Jeez, Hajime! I'm only messing with you, y'know? Chill out, I don't care if you come." You giggled, lightly nudging Hajime on the arm.

"Oh, s-sorry, that's embarrassing, huh?" He chuckled awkwardly, lightly rubbing the back of his neck.

"Don't worry about it, it's fine!" 

"Puhuhu! It is I, Monokuma! And I have a new motive for you all!

"Oh, here we go.." You mumbled, placing your head in your hand.

Monokuma explained the motive, it was a game he had made, called "Twilight Syndrome Murder Case." After he had done explaining, everyone disscussed the motive, agreeing not to play the game.

After all the girls that were going to the beach had finished eating their breakfast, Sonia suggested we visited the new island, so we did. 

Once we had all arrived at the bridge, we walked across it, laughing in excitement since it was nice to spend time having fun instead of worrying.

"I bet the beach will looklook stunning!" Sonia exclaimed, rushing across the bridge enthusiastically.

The first thing we saw was old, overgrown ruins which seemed to be sealed off, we all ignored the building though, finding a Pharmacy, Library, Diner, Beachhouse and the beach, which was absolutely beautiful! 

We all agreed that this was the spot and that we would meet up at the diner tomorrow in our swimsuits! Everyone then went their separate ways and you and Sonia headed to the Library together.

You spent some time discussing true crime and reading about it too! You talked about many famous killers, especially Genocide Syo, who Sonia was really passionate about! 

After a while, you left Sonia in the library and found Mikan, who was hanging around in the pharmacy, you chatted to her for a short while and listened to her talk about different medicines before heading back to the main island.

You grabbed some snacks from the Rocketpunch Market and then headed to your cottage, to chill and maybe do some sketches.  Once you were inside your cottage, you binge ate your favourite snacks as you cleaned up the sketch of you and the girls and began painting it.

You got a little tired after a while so you headed to your closet and put on some more chill clothes, some jean shorts and a paint-covered t-shirt, along with your shoes.

You left your cottage and headed to the beach, sitting down on the soft sand, taking off your shoes and dipping your feet in the cool water.

You took off your shirt, leaving you in your bra and shorts (if you are a male, or wear a binder etc ignore) and stood up, going deeper into the chilly sea. Swimming underwater, you searched the sandy seafloor for seashells, which you found a lot of and rose to the surface. 

You moved your hair out of your face and realized that the sea was going in, wetting your t-shirt! You rushed to the shore, looking at your drenched shirt, putting it back on with a sigh and slipping the seashells into your pocket.

Heading to the restaurant for dinner, you realized that a) you had spent hours at the beach and b) that your shirt was sea through.

"I was there for that long?" You thought, trying to dry your hair the best you could.

Once you had reached the restaurant, everyone looked at you, curious about what you had been doing.

"I went to the beach," You said before getting some dinner and sitting next to Nagito, who you hadn't seen all day.

"Hello, Y/N! Lovely to see you, did you enjoy your time at the beach?" Nagito asked, taking a small bite of his food.

"It wus niche, thashs! But swimming mashe you hunwry!" You exclaimed, mouth full of your dinner.

{Translation: " It was nice, thanks! But swimming makes you hungry!"}

He chuckled, then nodded his head and finished eating his dinner.

Once you had finished eating yours, you said goodnight to everyone and went back to your cabin, having a quick shower, brushing your teeth and changing your clothes before getting into bed.

You snuggled into your blanket and drifted into a deep sleep, unaware of what would happen tomorrow.
