Chapter 8

****Nina's POV****

((Monday))

I slowly opened my eyes and rubbed my head Hearing a heart monitor.

"Hey Nina."
Sonny walked over to me and grabbed my right hand and sat down next to me

"How are you feeling?"
He asked

"What happened?" I said

"You've been out of it, they had to do some tests on you and give pain medicine and flushing your system out, it made you pretty out of it."
Sonny said

"Hey Hunny."
Amanda said as she walked in with Olivia

"Hey." I said

"Hey Carisi, we need to talk." Olivia said

"Ok."
He said

"I'll be back." Sonny smiled at me and walked out with Olivia

"How are you feeling?" Amanda asked

"Best as I can be, I suppose."
I said

Amanda looked at My right wrist where I had cut it had been wrapped up with gauze

"You wanna tell me about that?" Amanda asked

"I struggle with cutting, especially after all the stuff we was going through in our foster home." I said

I went to put my arm under the blanket

"No need be ashamed baby." Amanda put her hand on my left arm

****Sonny's POV****

"I didn't want to share this all in front of Nina." Olivia said

"Did you get all the tests back?" I asked

"Yes." Olivia said

"They overdosed Nina on Xanax, and she was raped by Liam, and what the rape kit showed it was several times."
Olivia added letting out a deep breath

"My God, that poor kid." I said putting my hand up to my mouth

"But the test I'm sure you're really wondering about is the paternity test." Olivia smiled

"Yes." I took a deep breath

"We ran your mouth swab twice and Nina's mouth swab twice through Warner's system and the hospital even ran it twice, Nina is your daughter." Olivia smiled

"Are you really sure??" I asked so shocked but relieved

"Yes, and I don't know how it was hidden but Nina's mom Sylvia left a will we found hidden in Nina's file she put in the will. If In the event something happened to her, that Dominick Sonny Carisi last known location was in Los Angeles, whom I loved back secretly in high-school is my daughter Nina Kiondra Jonas' biological father..she said she knew she belonged to you." Olivia said

I had a moment where I felt relief, sadness, happiness, all of it all at once.

"Carisi...Carisi" I heard Olivia say and next thing I knew I was on the ground

"You ok?!" Olivia put her hand on my shoulder

"Yeah, I'm sorry". I said

"No need to be sorry, it's a lot."
Olivia said

Olivia helped me up off the ground

"How do I tell this 12 year old little girl That I'm her father and Donald isn't her biological dad?" I put my hands on my head

"One thing and day at a time Carisi." Olivia said

((Tuesday))

****Nina's POV****

"So Sonny I'm sure you have Better things to do than to sit with me here at the hospital." I said

"No I actually don't." He smiled as he got up from the couch and came and sat at his normal spot next to my bed

"But I will have to leave today because I have somethings to take care of. Nick is going to come stay with you tonight."
Sonny said

"What do you have to do?" I asked curious

"Something's." I said not wanting to tell her that Amanda, Elliot, and I was going to be transforming my spare bedroom into her bedroom for when she comes to my place, whenever that happens

"Ok." I said

"Hello Nina, how are you feeling?" Dr Shannon asked as she came to check my vitals

"Good, I think." I smiled

"Well Everything is looking good, you're well enough to go home tomorrow." She smiled

"I don't know where home is actually." I said looking down

"Life is going to be better for you Nina" Dr Shannon smiled at me then looked up at Sonny

"Can we talk a minute?!"
Sonny asked Dr Shannon

"Of course." She smiled

We heard a knock at the door

It was Nick

"Hey Nina." Nick said

"Hey Nick." I said

"Shall we?" Sonny motioned for him and Dr Shannon to go to the hallway

****Sonny's POV****

"She doesn't know yet does she?" Dr Shannon asked

"No, I going to go home tonight with two other detectives and we're going to transform my spare bedroom into her room. I don't know when she'll be coming there yet for sure, I know we are working on it and should know more tomorrow." I said

"My only concern is her being safe, those cuts on her wrist was self inflected-something she did herself due to the trauma she was enduring."
Dr Shannon said

"I'm scared I'm not going to know what to do. What do I do to help her?" I asked

"Sonny even though you are a cop, we have had to legally observe you being here with her and since the moment she got here you haven't left this building, it was at the recommendation of our child psychologist. Your father instincts have already kicked in."
Dr Shannon said

"Really?" I said

"Just make sure when she comes to your place if you could have anything that she could hurt herself with locked up, put away where she doesn't know where it's at and can't get to it.it may not be easy at first but considering all she's been through." Dr Shannon said

I looked at her doorway

"That's my daughter and I owe it to her to give her the best I can. I'm not going anywhere." I said

Dr Shannon smiled and said "You're a good dad Sonny" And she walked away
