Chapter 30

****Nick's POV****

"What's wrong with her, why isn't she saying anything?" Sonny asked as he looked at Olivia and I

"She hasn't spoken since we broke the news to her yesterday about the probation, everything." I said

"Nina please say something." Sonny looked at Nina

Nina just looked at him like she didn't understand a word he said.

Sonny looked back at us

"Could you give us a minute?" He asked

"Of course." Olivia said

"Nick let's step out in the hallway." Olivia added

Olivia and I walked back into the hallway

"I don't know what to do." I said

"Maybe seeing Sonny today will help, maybe it'll help her communicate."
Olivia said

"I don't know, I hope. How's group And Wong going to be beneficial if she won't talk?" I asked

"Trust me, it will." Olivia said

****Nina's POV****

"Nina what's wrong?" Sonny asked me

I nodded my head and shrugged my shoulders like nothing was wrong, but everything was wrong.
I was afraid, scared, sad, depressed, broken, angry, everything. I feared not being able to get officially adopted by my dad, I feared something else would happen to him, I feared he would die, I feared I would end up in juvie, anything and everything felt and weighed deep on me.

I looked at Sonny in the eyes and I couldn't bring myself to say anything at all.

Sonny put his hands on my shoulders

"Nina I'm your dad. I'm not going anywhere, I'm going to be here for you always, through it all."
Sonny said

I felt a few tears fall down my face and he pulled me into his chest and held me there in his arms. I felt safe, loved, and finally at peace.

I must have fallen asleep because the next thing I knew I was being woke up by Sonny

"Hey Nina, It's time for Nick to take you home."
Sonny said

I opened my eyes slowly and leaned up from Sonny's chest, I rubbed my eyes trying to get awake.

"I'll be home Friday, and I want to hear how it went with Wong and group ok? I love you Nina."
Sonny said

I nodded and felt guilty I couldn't even tell my own dad I loved him.

Nick, Olivia, and I headed to the door

"I'll be back tomorrow Carisi." Olivia smiled

"Sounds good" he smiled.

We walked out to the car

"How was it with your dad?" Olivia asked

I nodded my head

Nick and Olivia looked at each other

"How about I make us some pizza when we get home?"
Nick asked

I nodded my head

The car ride home was awkward I'd be lying if I didn't say it was.

Nina just sat in the back and stared out the window the whole time, I'm worried about her and I feel hopeless.
