chapter twenty six [ Schuyler ]

People were staring.

No. It's not because that Allen is one tall and handsome guy walking around the streets. But because of my clothes - the stupid clothes that I wore to make Allen regret asking me to skip classes - but in the end I was the one who regretted wearing them out.

I looked down on my feet as we walk together. Allen was holding a can of soda in his hand. I sighed and tried to ignore all the stares the people were giving me.

Allen doesn't seem affected beside me. I looked at him from the corner of my eyes as he turned to look my direction in time when someone suddenly commented about us together. "What's with that couple?" someone snickered, looking at me disgustingly.

"The guy is way too hot to be with the girl," another commented. "I mean, he could actually find someone on his level," she commented, clicking her tongue.

They don't have shame. They were standing within earshot and they kept on badmouthing me. If I didn't try to control my temper today, then I would've smacked her already.

"Oops," Allen suddenly shouted out loud, throwing his open cup to my direction. I wasn't ready to avoid it since he suddenly threw it to me. My clothes were completely wet and sticky from his juice.

I turned to glare at him and he just shrugged at me. "We can buy new clothes for you," he said as he turned around and started walking towards some random clothing stores.

I sighed and ran towards Allen, avoiding the disappointed looks of the people. They don't even know me, so why judge? Everybody have their own reasons for doing things.

"Allen!" I shouted, as I caught up to his side.

"What?" he replied, his voice showing slightly of annoyance. I looked at him worriedly, hoping that he's not actually mad at me. He scratched the back of his head and sighed. "I'm not mad at you, if that's what you're thinking,"

"Sorry," I muttered. "You know, I shouldn't have dressed like this," I added embarrassedly.

"We're buying new clothes for you," he said with a smirk. "I've always wanted to try buying clothes for a girl in a cool way,"

"So throwing your juice at me was actually your cool way of buying a girl new clothes?" I asked surprisingly. "You really have a weird taste," I added with a laugh.

He turned at me embarrassedly and glared at me. "I don't mind. Let's just buy you new clothes, I'm the one feeling weird with your clothes like that,"

"Says the person who threw his juice purposely at me," I teased. I wasn't really mad that he did that, maybe just a little irritated that he did that.

"They were talking bad of you!" he countered childishly. "Besides, that's the only thing that came into mind when I got pissed," he laughed.

So he was pissed.

We walked inside a clothing store. The sales lady were all staring at Allen as we walked in. I stood behind him embarrassedly, I didn't want to embarrass him more with the clothes and the stain on my clothes.

"Can you find something for her to change?" Allen asked one of the saleslady. "Some simple dress will be fine," he added with a nod. The saleslady suddenly pulled me by the arm and gestured towards the dressing room.

One of the saleslady tried lifting the hem of my shirt inside the dressing room, but I immediately pulled it down embarrassedly. "I can do it myself," I muttered embarrassedly to one of the saleslady.
