chapter thirty one (Schuyler)
Two words.
Kill Me.
I played with my fingers nervously as I thought of every single word inside my head-dictionary that I could use to come up with an excuse. Everybody will surely make a fuss about coming out of the car with the school's player. I tried calming myself down couple of times, but my heart would just begin thumping hard against my chest once again when the thought came into my mind.
Two weeks of me taking care of Allen were over. He has been skipping the class almost for the whole two weeks, using his hurting body as an excuse for not going to school. Sometimes he's even dragging me to skip with him. I did on some times, but not every single time that he asked me. My studies would definitely get dragged down to the depths of the sea if I did that.
I opened and closed my fists, trying to calm my nerves down. Why did Henry even allow him to bring me to school when I have been walking to school ever since. This was a punishment.
"Schuyler," Allen said, bringing me back to my right mind. "Are you sure you're alright? I can call the school and tell them that you're not feeling well," he suggested, glancing at me from the corner of his eyes.
I shook my head. "I'm fine," I replied. "Just worried about what will happen today," I added honestly. I didn't really want to know what will happen to me. My head will probably in the platter on the cheerleaders' table during dinner time. I sighed and tried to prepare myself from what was heading towards me.
"Everything will be alright," he assured, entwining his fingers with me as his other hand held the wheel.
"Yeah right, your other girlfriends probably broke up with you because of how scary your fans are," I said sarcastically. He immediately frowned at me and his grip tightened around my hand. Allen always hated when I mentioned his girlfriends in front of him.
"Nice way to ruin the moment," he forced out a chuckle, and let go of my hand. My hands immediately itched to take them back. Guess I was that desperate for his touch.
I grinned at him. "I just don't know how to face the problems straight forward you know,"
"Obviously," he retorted, rolling his eyes at me. "You know that you just have to be yourself, you know? Everything will be fine, I'm sure they'll understand,"
Yeah. Like the word understand is even present in their dictionary.
They would obviously not understand. He was a player, and I was a nobody (well, maybe compared to those queen bees) but I was his girlfriend, something that would definitely not be believed by other people.
"No matter what you think, I'm pretty sure they'll understand you. You might even be friends with them right on the spot," he chuckled. "Especially Delilah, I'm pretty sure you'll have fun together. She might be a bitch sometimes, but she has a heart,"
Delilah.
Just the mention of her name, I already want to be buried alive under the ground and never make it out alive and in whole. Maybe getting my head cut off and placed in a platter was much more better compared to trying to get along with Delilah. Everybody knows that she wasn't someone you want to get along with. She was the head of Allen's fan club and obviously, she's the least person you will expect to understand my situation right now.
