chapter fourteen

Both Allen and Kaito obediently sat down on the stools before they could even break anything in the cafe. They sat two seats apart from each other. I fought the urge to laugh at them. They were seriously like a cat and dog pair.

I gave Allen the other extra coffee that Kaito bought before for me. I didn't exactly expect him to try spitting out the coffee when Kaito teased him about letting his brother treat him.

"Hey!" I whined as the coffee stains my shirt. "You're so gross!"

Kaito and Allen eyed me in pure amusement as I tried wiping the stain of with a table napkin. I don't know the reason why they hate each other, but hell, they're so similar in almost every way.

"Aren't you two going to leave?" I frowned at them. It was already way past closing time, and I wouldn't be able to close the store if they're still here. There's a CCTV camera in here so when Avery reviews it, he will obviously notice that I shooed two customers away,

Kaito points to the direction of the camera and clicks his tongue, shaking his head at me. "He can see you," Kaito whispered.

I gave him a straight face and sighed when he just grinned at me. Allen muttered something under his breathe and turned away from us, resting his head again his arms.

I sighed and leaned against the counter across from them. I washed their used utensils and placed them back inside the drawers and cabinets.

"Kai, until when are you staying here?" I asked, trying to raise the awkwardness from the two of them. Allen scooted away from him a little and Kaito smiled at me. "Until I find someone to scout," he said, eyeing on me.

I winced. I forgot about that. Maybe I should ask Heather and consider this before rejecting his offer. I mean, this is a once in a life time chance, isn't it? "Oh." I simply replied.

"She's not coming with you," Allen muttered, glaring at his brother.

I turned to him as he fiddled on the saucer of his cup. I saw Kaito glance at his watch from the corner of my eye. "I better get going," he said, grabbing his coat from the chair to his right.

"Yeah right, you should've left a few hours ago," Allen spat harshly. I reached over and punched him on the arm. "What the fuck!"

Kaito laughed as he slid on his coat. He reached in his pants' pocket and searched for something. He placed down a bill and smiled at me. "Keep the change," he said before leaning in an placing a kiss on my forehead. There was a sudden scraping of the chair as I leaned back.

"What the hell?" Allen demanded, standing still and ready to pounce on his brother until I reached out and tried to stop him. "So now you're on his side? Who kisses someone they met a few hours ago?"

"No one!" I retorted. "You actually said that he came back from---"

"Europe," Kaito intervened. "It's somewhat like a greeting to us,"

"Greeting my ass, you're taking advantage of her," Allen scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest.

"I seriously better go now," Kaito said with a chuckle.

"You better," Allen mumbled before taking a sip of his coffee. Kaito rolled his eyes at him. I smiled at the two boys, you can actually see the similarity of those two people. Besides, it's only natural for siblings to fight, believe me, I never saw one that never fought ever. I fight with Henry, daily.

"You're staring too much," Allen mumbled against his cup. I blinked in shock when I took his words in. I muttered an apology to him embarrassedly and looked away. "I know you want to ask something about him."
