Be My Date!? (Bucky x Y/n reader)

10 days left.

You returned home from office at 3, tired and exhausted as you hadn't had enough sleep. Thank God Christmas holidays exist, and you didn't have to get up early or think about work till the 2nd week of January. Steve was gone when you reached home, so you just slipped in some comfy clothes and slept.

You were in the middle of your sleep when your phone burst out ringing.

"Hello Y/n Y/L/n this side" you say in a sleepy voice.

"Hey this is Kate, it's my new number actually, anyways are you ready?" Kate said. You could hear that she was driving due to the background noise.

"Ready? Ready! Yeah I'm ready just,uh how long?" you say sitting up in the bed and frantically checking the time, 4.15

"I have something to take care of then I'll meet you at Grand Central in 45?"

"Right see you"

"See you"

You hang up and text Bucky to meet at your in 30 before taking a quick shower to wash away the tiredness and sleep.

As you were getting ready you heard your doorbell.

"I'm here in 25 see! What are you wearing! Change that, oh that's your face!" Bucky said as he took a bite from the half-eaten plum from the bowl of plums you left on the kitchen counter.

"Shut up and keep them back I was eating that plum!" You say putting your stuffs in your handbag.

"What plum?" He said turning the now empty plate upside down and innocently and sending a mischievous smile.

"My car"

"You bought a car!?"

"Rented one, get in"

"Where are my keys?"

You flip the keys in air in his direction and he catches it, quickly coming to the driver's side and sitting in.

"Bastard!" You say hitting your head with your palm, quickly sitting in the passenger's seat.

You regret forgetting ear buds so much, the whole car ride Bucky was speaking non-stop gibberish. All you did was lay your head back and get a little nap but failed at the attempt. Soon you reached there and met Kate and Josh at Starbucks.

What is he doing here!?

"What is he doing here?" Bucky mumbled looking at you.

"How'd I know?" you mumble back rolling your eyes at him.

You all do the greetings and hugs when Kate told you both that Josh really wanted to accompany her even when she had told him not to. You both obviously said that it didn't matter, although you were scared, what if Kate and Josh had something going on and oh no, you'd have to look for another girl! You were already running out of time.

You all took your coffee and started roaming around aimlessly, picking up stuffs for Christmas in different shops.

You came across a very cute blue jumper, so you bought that for Steve along with a perfume set for Peggy. Bucky was also roaming around picking up stuffs, but he didn't buy anything. You signaled him to get close to Kate and talk to her while Josh had to go out to receive a call. He did so and you slowly slipped away from them to a different counter, to give them some privacy.

Your eyes land upon a glass cup, with 'I am non-smart' printed on it. You bought it for Bucky, don't know why but you thought you should give something to him too, even if he doesn't care or might even not accept it or throw it away the next moment after accepting it.
