"So, Taylor?" Kate questioned, handing Buck a beer
"What about her?" He asked
"I mean you did fan girl over her today" Kate joked, "followed by some flirting" she added
"I was not flirting" he scoffed
"Well than what's happening there, you gonna ask her out or are you gonna stare at her on the tv all day?" Kate teased
Buck didn't reply, he glanced down at the bottle in his hand, a small sigh leaving him
"Alright" Kate adjusted herself, "what's wrong?" Sue asked
"Before Abby I was a douchebag. I had sex in fire trucks and I didn't call back, I had no remorse for anything I did. I don't want to go back to that guy" he explained
Kate stared at him, disbelief painted her face "You had sex in the trucks?"
"Really, that's what you take from that" he deadpanned
"right, yeah" she nodded "Abby changed you, she made you someone who you like and now she's not here. Just because Abby's not here doesn't mean the new you can't be, ask Taylor out or don't, go have some aimless sex if you want. Doing that won't make you a bad person, it's just what you do after that defines that"
"Taylor's not even my type" he shrugged,
Kate wouldn't admit this but hearing that Taylor wasn't what Evan wanted right now gave her a sense of relief.
Everything she was doing lately felt so wrong, she had growing feeling for her friend who she just let move in and now she's giving him relationship advice.
All she wanted was to start over in a new place, when she walked into that station she didn't expect to go all goggly eyed for the first man she seen, but here she was silently wishing she was what Buck wanted.

"I don't know her beyond the traffic news, and there might be someone else" he mumbled
"Evan Buckley, do tell" Kate insisted
"Definitely not, it's still new and I don't want anything to ruin it" he shook
"Oh come on" she teased, "I gotta know now"
"No, because If you know you'll tease even more"
"Is it actually Taylor?" Kate asked, "because if it is, that's fine. I mean you only can girled over her"
"Shut it" buck nudged her arm
"Fine" she sighed dramatically, "but I'll find out"
"You wanna order some food?" He asked
"Sure, I could eat" she nodded
"I'm gonna go get changed, will you order a pizza" he stood up
