Kate walked, or more so stumbled into the fire station. She had woken up feeling like crap, her nose was stuffy and her throat was scratchy, but she insisted on going to work
"We can still go home" buck said, holding her arm gently
"No" she refused, "I'm fine. I want to work"
"You are sick, you really shouldn't be working"
"I blame the ice from yesterday's call, first run in with some frozen water in a year and this happens" she ranted
Kate sneezed a few times, she sniffled quietly "don't" she pointed to buck, who's face had I told you so written all over it.
"Bless you"
Kate tracked up the stairs, feeling like her feet were cemented to the ground. Her phone buzzed in her pocket, Kate stopped to check
Can we talk please, i just want to talk ~ Adam.
Kate rolled her eyes, she shoved her phone back in her pocket and walked up the last few steps
"Jesus Kate, what happened to you?" Chimney commented
"She's sick"
"Contagious sick?" Hen questioned, keeping her distance
"I have a cold. Big.." Kate sneezed, "deal"
"You gotta go home. Like now" hen insisted
"You feeling okay?" Eddie asked, noticing how sick his friend looked
"God, have none of you ever been sick, it's a cold. I'll be fine" she snapped, "now if you excuse me, I'm going to go and grab some medicine from my car"
Kate left her friends, she met Bobby half way on the stairs
"Kate.." he cautioned
"Please don't"
"If you are sick, you need to go home"
Kate sighed, "im perfectly fine" She continued to walk down the stairs, she walked out of the station and jogged over to her car and unlocked it. She grabbed the flue medicine and chugged some from the bottle, hoping it would keep her symptoms at bay
Kate closed the door, she locked the car and walked away, she noticed Athena walking into the station
"Hey Athena" she walked along side her, "before you ask, I'm fine"
"Oh please" Athena scoffed, she felt Kate's forehead before Kate managed to swat her away "you're sick"
"What-.. you.. did you just mother me?"
Athena shrugged, "you look like you needed it"
"You know it's just a cold, everyone gets them. I'll be fine" Kate argued
