Halloween had come around, the holiday never really bothered Kate, every year she'd go trick or treating with her niece; this year was a little different, she actually had calls that didn't involve putting out bonfires and warning a bunch of teenagers.

This year, she stood on the edge of a cliff, looking for a caller.

"Buck, Eddie, you guys see anything down there?"

"No. Just a million-dollar view." Buck responded

Eddie noticed something a few feet away from them, "Cap, found something." He announced,

Kate walked over to where Eddie stood, she looked at where he was staring, her breath was taken at the sight of a real skeleton.

"Jesus" she whispered, blessing herself

"Is it our hiker?" Bobby asked through the radio

"A hiker. Don't think it's the one we came looking for. It's human remains, Cap. Skeletal remains."

" All right. Well, flag it but don't disturb it. We'll call it in."

"Unless..." Buck picked up a cellphone that laid beside the bones

"What, you think a ghost called?" Eddie asked

"That's impossible" Kate shook her head, "ghost aren't even real"

"I'm just saying."

The sound of cries for help in the distance interrupted their growing debate.

"Okay So, no ghost."

Kate took the lead, she followed the voice whist Buck filled in Bobby, coincidentally the caller wasn't far from the remains of the body they found

"Hey, we're here" Kate spoke, she kneeled down next to the victim "can you tell me your name?" She asked

"Ian." He grunted

"Alright Ian, you'll be out of here in time" Kate reassured

"My le-my leg is broken." He groaned in pain,

Kates eyes met with the bone that protruded from Ian's skin, she looked back up at the scared man "it's nothing that can't be fixed, you are alive and that's what matters

"How'd you find me?"

"It wasn't easy. You weren't on long enough for them to ping your phone." Buck admitted,

"On with who?" Ian asked

"With, uh, with 911"

"I dropped my phone when I went over. I didn't call"

The three of them shared a confused look, wondering how they found someone alive who didn't make a call and someone dead who did.

"Well someone up there is watching out for you" Kate said, giving a small smile

...

Kate handed a box of food to Evan, Kate was trying to steer clear of alone time with her coworker, but she didn't factor in her feeling after he moved in, her unwanted feelings were making themselves at home and had no intention of leaving. She knew it was wrong.

She didn't expect to have feelings for someone so quick after moving, but the more she thought about Buck and how great he was.. the more she craved the idea Of him

"Ghosts aren't real Evan, people die and.. that's it" Kate mumbled,

"You're in a pleasant mood" Buck joked
