Happy Ending?

Continued...

Hassena, Karishma, Cheeta and other officers were waiting for Anubhav to return. It's been 45 minutes now. Hassena was roaming here and there in worry.

Hassena ( angry plus worried )- Yeh Anubhav samajhte kya hai aapne aap ko? Jab bhi dekho tab Aapne Senior hone ka fayda utha kar hukum chalate rehte hai. Aur toh aur abhi tak bahar bhi nahi aye.

Karishma- Aap chinta mat kijiye Maddamsir. Karishma Singh ke bhai hai voh... Unhe kuch nahi ho sakta.

Hassena stopped and looked at her.

Hassena- Karishma Singh, aapne ek hafte pehle humse jhoot kyu bola ki aap headquarters mein hai jabki aap Anubhav ke ghar par thi?

Karishma looked down in embarrassment and guilt.

Karishma- Voh Maddamsir hum unke ghar gaye the taaki hume kuch pata lag sake ki uss gang ke bare mein. Aur file dekhte dekhte hamare nazar ek bakse par gai. Humne usse khola toh ek aadmi ka tasveer tha usme. Hume laga ki aap hume dantengi isiliye humne jhoot bola.

Cheeta- Par Karishma madam, aap aaj Thane mein itni pareshan kahe thi?

Karishma- Voh isilye Cheete kyuki humne usse admi ko Haspatal ke bahar dekha tha. Hum thaane se nikle usse admi ko pakadne ke liye the lekin usse pehle hi unhone Maddamsir ka apaharan kar liya.

IB Officer- Jo bhi ho aapko Anubhav sir ko yeh baat batani chahiye thi.

Hassena looked at the godown.

Hassena- 45 minute ke upar ho gaye hai. Hum yaha kab tak haath par haath dhare baithe rahenge? Hume kuch toh karna hi padega...

Karishma- Par hum ka karenge?

Hassena ( moving towards the godown )- Chaliye.

IB Officer- Par sir ne aapko andar jaane se maana kiya hai. Aapko chinta ho rahi ho toh hum jakar dekhte hai.

Hassena- Hum jayenge unhe bachane. Agar aur kisi ko ana ho toh hi aye.

Karishma- Nahi Maddamsir, thik keh rahi hai. Anu bhaiya andar hai aur hum yaha aaise hi nahi baith sakte.

She moved towards the godown and everyone else followed her.

They all searched for Anubhav and Mira in the entire godown but they found no trace. Suddenly, they heard a gunshot. They all ran towards the direction of the sound.

Hassena's heart skipped a bit. She feared if Anubhav had suffered with some injury. She came out of the godown from the backdoor when they heard another gunshot. Hassena was on verge of crying but controlled herself.

They ran towards the direction and finally saw Anubhav and the boss fighting with each other; gun in between them. They saw Mira motionless standing in the corner, probably she was out of charge.

But, Hassena's eyes were fixed on Anubhav. The boss stood up. All gasped. Karishma was going to cry. But, Hassena was not moving from her place.

Hassena ( Teary eyed and shocked )- Anubhav...

Suddenly the boss fell and died. Anubhav stood up. They all breathed a sign of relief. Karishma ran towards him and hugged him tightly.

Anubhav ( rubbing her back )- Shant behna hum thik hai...

He consoled her and glanced at Hassena who was looking at him with blank expression. Karishma broke the hug and looked at Anubhav then her eyes landed on Hassena.

Hassena's knees gone weak and she sat on her knees on the ground. Anubhav left Karishma and walked towards Hassena. He sat down to her level and cupped her face.

Anubhav ( sweetly; tears formed in his eyes )- Hum thik hai Hassena ji!

She with difficulty looked at him. Tears flowing through her eyes. She took his hands and in hers and kissed them closing her eyes.

Anubhav looked at others and gestured through eyes. Everyone understood that they needed to be alone. So, Karishma and Cheeta took Mira and left. IB officers too left.

Anubhav ( worriedly )- Hassena hume kuch nahi hua hai. Kuch toh boliye.

Hassena started sobbing and hugged him instantly. She started crying more loudly when he hugged her back. She rested her chin on his shoulders and wrapped her hand around his neck.

Hassena ( crying )- Hume laga... Aap hume fir hume ch... Chod kar chale gaye Anu... ( Sobs ) Please kabhi humse dur maat jana...

Anubhav too had tears in his eyes and was crying.

Anubhav- Shant ho jaeye Hassena... Hum aapko chod kar nahi ja rahe... Shant ho jaeye. Aapko pata haina ki hum aapko aaise nahi dekh sakte.

Hassena dug her face in his arms and smuggled into him; still crying.

Hassena- Hume promise kijiye Anu ki aap aisa kabhi nahi karenge. Aaj jaise Aapne hume safe rakh ne ke liye aapne aap se dur kiya aap vaise kabhi nahi karenge... Promise me...

Anubhav- Hum aab aaise nahi karenge. Par pehle aap shant ho jaeye. Hume nahi pasand ki aap hamare karan aapne ankhon mein ashru laye.

They broke the hug, he wiped her tears. He placed a kiss on her forehead and both got up. She stopped crying but didn't left his hand.

Anubhav- Chale?

Hassena finally smiled. Anubhav smiled back.

Next Day,

Commissioner- Brilliant work Anubhav Singh and all of you...

Commissioner praised Anubhav and others. They were in Commisioner office as they had to report in headquarters. Hassena and Anubhav were sitting on the chairs and others were standing. All thanked him.

Commissioner- Par Anubhav yeh toh Samajh aa gaya ki tumne Miss Mallik ke kapdon par tracker lagaya tha lekin mujhe ek baat abhi bhi samajh nahi ayi ki tumhe kaise pata chala ki uss gang ka boss vahi par hai?

Anubhav- Bohot saral tha sir. Jab usne hume durbhash par dhamki di tab humne background mein vahi avaje suni jo hume bhi aa rahi thi.

Hassena- Konsi awaj?

Anubhav- Hassena ji, aapko yaad hai hum jab vaha par the toh vaha par hume Aarti karne ki awaje aa rahi thi?

Hassena- Ha

Anubhav- Toh hume durbhash par bhi utni ki tivrata ki dhvani sunai di. Isse hum samajh gaye ki voh kahi aas paas hi hai. Aur ASI Mira ki madad se humne voh bomb bhi defuse kar diya.

Commissioner- Lekin fir ASI Mira out of charge kaise hui?

Anubhav- Sir, hum lagbhag saare gundon ko maar chuke the aur Vikrant ko pakadne hi vale the ki ASI Mira Out of Charge ho gayi...

Hassena- Matlab uska naam Vikrant tha...

Anubhav- Ha... Aur badi hi mushkil se humne aapne aap ko bacha liya. Varna voh Vikrant hume jeevit nahi chodne vala tha.

Karishma- Dekha sir aapne. Machine ka dushparinam. Anubhav sir ko jab Mira ki sabse jyada jarurat thi tabhi uska battery chala gaya. Agar koi imaandar afsar vaha hota toh sir ko akele sambhalna nahi padta.

Commissioner- Karishma Singh is appropriate. Sorry to say but humne itni bhi pragati nahi ki hai ki aab insaan ko Machine replace kar sake.

Hassena- Mira toh phir bhi machine hai ( intertwined her hand with Anubhav's under table and looking at him ) Sir, kisiki zindagi mein kisi bhi insaan ki kami koi aur nahi pura kar sakta

Hassena and Anubhav looked at each other and smiled. Commisioner nodded. All exchanged smiles.
