A whole week had passed by, just like that. I spent my day with Josh, I gained a head cold, and recovered it, and Vic had his bands signed and he was going to come on tour with me!
I finished packing my bag for what seemed like the twentieth time this month. I don't know why, but I liked wearing heels. Normally converse are my thing, but every time I left for a tour I wore heels.
Maybe it was good luck. I dunno. It just always happened. Like, during tour I'd ALWAYS wear converse, but when I left I'd be in heels.
I went down the stairs, fixing my tie. I also always wore ties. Lord, I must look like a freak in the airport.
"Hi baby." I said. Josh and I realized we were making a habit out of each other by calling the other 'Joshy' and 'Laurey' so we were trying to call each other anything else but that.
He smirked. "You're making it so hard for me." he murmured in my ear as we hugged.
His breath smelt like Coke Zero, which triggered a sweet memory. It was a weird feeling too, because I was smelling and remembering at the same time. It made me feel a little light headed.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Going away, dressed like that. It's hard to say goodbye." he said. I smiled.
"At least I'll be home in two weeks." I said.
"In two weeks Marianas is going on a UK tour." he reminded me. I bit my lip.
There was silence for a bit. Secretly, we both knew what the outcome of this would be, though we both did not want to admit it.
"We get back early December?" he offered.
"I'm leaving for a U.S. tour in December." I reminded him.
"So..." he said, biting his lip.
I felt little beads forming where I had but my lip, and I realized I bit it so hard my lip was bleeding.
"Please don't say what I think you're going to say?" I begged.
"We can't do it any other way Lauren... We don't have time for each other anymore." Josh said.
My eyes stung. "So... looks like we're going to have to break up.... For now, anyways..." I said. Josh nodded.
I wiped my lip, grabbed my bag, and headed towards the door. I felt his eyes on my back.
"Josh, I know that you know me well enough that if I look back and I see you're looking back I'm going to cry." I said. I heard him chuckle softly.
"Bye, Lauren." he said.
When I thought he turned away, I glanced back. Josh jogged up the stairs. My eyes were burning as I stepped into our new tour van. We were driving everywhere for this tour.
Vic looked up. There weren't enough beds on his bus for him, and since I'm one person Vic is sharing my bus.
"Lauren, what happened?" he asked, putting his phone on the table.
I let go of the handles on my bags and broke down. I put on arm in front of my stomach, like I ledge to put my elbow. I had my other arm up so my hand covered my mouth.
I cried. Vic came over and put his arms on my shoulders.
"What happened?" he asked again, looking straight into my eyes.
"J-J-Josh and I d-d-don't have time for each other-r-r any-more s-s-so we broke up." I sobbed.
We sat on the couch, and Vic tried his hardest to get me to smile, but telling me stories of stupid things we did when we were younger.
