CHAPTER SEVEN

While Andreus was gone, time seemed like it stopped. The sun had never rise. There was no wind, like the world was holding its breath along with me, waiting for him to return.

It's been one month since he left. I was doing fine.. I was okay.. But something's missing. Something's empty.

I tried looking for him but there was no single trace of him. It was like he perished from the world.

I found out that he transfered the company to my name and I was having a hard time dealing with it. I do not have enough knowledge so I stay up late all night just to study . The employees are expecting me there. I don't want to disappoint them.

The love untold was haunting me for f–cking 3 years. It was like that for 3 f–cking years.

I woke up late and worse, I have a damn hangover!

My phone rang. I  already know who it was and why. Argh! Bakit ba hindi matapos tapos ang meetings na dinadaluhan ko?

I raised my brow before I answered the call.

"Madam, where are you ? The meeting is about to start in 20 minutes. Should I cancel it? "

"No, I'll come. Tell them to wait. " I ended the call and went to the bathroom.

After that, I entered the walk-in closet so I could pick something to wear. I wear a black pencil skirt paired with my white blouse. I put my black heels and sunglass.

Good thing walang traffic so I was late for only 10 minutes.

"Madam, they're all waiting in the meeting room. Some of them were complaining because you were late," salubong sa akin ni Farah, my secretary.

"Yeah," I rolled my eyes at dumeretso na ako sa meeting room. I don't care whether they cancel the meeting or the business deal. It's not my loss, it's their loss.

Marahas kong binuksan ang pinto. Nakataas lang ang kilay ko habang dire diretso sa harapan. Tahimik ang paligid . Ang tunog lang ng heels ko ang gumagawa ng ingay. I smirked, enjoying the attention.

"Ms. Heran, you're late. " Umiling iling ang matanda , tanda ng pagkadismaya.

Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay. " I'm sorry for that. If you want to stop this thing, then I'm not stopping you to do it. "

Nagulat ang lahat sa inakto ko. I know I was being disrespectful but I couldn't stand people complaining whenever I'm late.

I heard someone chuckled.

Nakakunot ang noo kong iginala ang paningin sa mga tao.

I stopped when I saw a pair of familiar brown eyes.

His eyes met mine.

A devilish smile was plastered on his face.

Tila nalagutan ako ng hininga . Parang tumigil ang ikot ng mundo. Nanghina ang mga tuhod ko at tila nais kong tumakbo. I was paralyzed. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang gagawin ko.

No. Not now!

I tried to remain calm.I gathered my all strength and said, "I'm s-sorry for t-the inconvenience. L-let's start the meeting now," nauutal kong saad. Sh–t! Why am I acting like this?

The meeting started smoothly. But I was a bit unfocused. Well, he was there! He was staring at me all the time and I swear my heart just stopped.

"Let's take a break," I announced.

My head is aching. Isama pa ang Allejong iyan! Argh. Why can't I just have a normal day?!

"Cresia!" I heard a loud voice.

Lumapit sa akin si Lawrence at umupo sa tabi ko. We grew close together. He was  helping me with the company.

"Let's have dinner mamaya." Inakbayan niya ako.

I glared at him. "We're at work, Mr. Marquez. Be professional. "

In my peripheral vision, I saw Andreus glaring at us. If stares could kill, then we'd probably be dead right now. Anong problema ng isang 'yon?

"So, you agree for the dinner?" balewala niya sa sinabi ko. Inalis na rin niya ang pagkakaakbay sa akin.

"No. I have many things to do." Inirapan ko siya.

" 'Yan ka na naman sa pagiging workaholic mo! Masyado mo nang pinapagod ang sarili mo. God, Cresia! Marami ka nang sandamakmak na pera!" His voice was very loud. Napatingin na rin ang ibang mga tao sa amin, even Andreus.

" Okay, I'll come. Just get out now, " naiirita kong sagot. I suddenly lost all my patience.

Nabigla ako ng bigla niya akong niyakap. Nakatingin halos lahat ng mga tao sa amin. How unprofessional of him!

I glared at him. "Get.Out.Now."

Humalakhak siya bago umalis. Nakahinga na rin ako ng maluwag. Masyado siyang makulit!

We continued the meeting and it went very well. We all stood up to shake hands. Nakipagkamayan ako sa lahat maliban sa kaniya. I don't have any plans on doing that.

I was about to open my door when someone offered his hand.

Tipid akong ngumiti. "Nice meeting you."

Nakipagkamayan ako sa kaniya.

He chuckled at what I said.

Is there something funny?

Pinagtaasan ko siya ng kilay. "I have to go now. "

"See you later, Ms. Heran. " Then, he winked at me.
