11: Red and Blue

Brewing beneath the surface

A fire ever burning

The slightest splash of fuel sends the flames soaring

Towards the sky

A blaze that cannot be controlled

Incinerating everything in its path

Lurking in the dark corners

An urge ever whispers

The slightest spark sends desire screaming

Through the veins

Actions too quick for thought

Rivers running red

Pumping through sinking vessels

Blood ever flowing

The slightest drop spilled sends more pouring

Through the cracks

A flood too fierce to dam

Dragging into damnation

Crashing into walls built high

A façade ever present

The slightest love sends bricks tumbling

To the ground

A damage irreparable

Threatening the entire system

Sewing up the holes

Now nothing is permanent

The fire still burns

The rivers and the flood still red

But now there is a blue

That stems the flow

And quenches the flames

I don't believe

Things will ever be the same

Because you showed kindness

When others showed hate

And you were early

When others were too late

You were the eye

And I, the storm

You let me rage and helped it end

And though all I'd known was foes

In you, I found a friend.
