I know I can do it.

I know I'm capable.

But my mistake stands right behind me with his hands in his pockets, reminding me of my fault about a month ago.

I can not miss.

Nothing else makes me feel alive—nothing else makes me feel whole like making the perfect shot, so when I missed last time, a small part of me was missing. Who am I if I can't provide the one thing I've always promised to provide? Who am I if I left my team—my family—with no one to supply that perfect shot?

Both Oikawa and Iwa lean on the car, hands in their pockets as they watch a silver car approach slowly, headlights shining bright onto the road.

"Knox, do not freak out," Iwaizumi says suddenly with a whisper. "But there are two people in the car approaching."

"Tell me what to do Iwa," I beg as my hands begin to shake. Why couldn't my comeback be an easy one?

"You're made for this, Dawn," Rin whispers behind me, basically reading my mind.

"We have two options," Oikawa begins as I glide my rifle scope with the car driving down the long road. It's approaching fast and though I usually work well under pressure, previous events have led me to believe I might not be as quick on my feet this time. "I can take the second guy while you take Terushima out or you can take out both on your own. But you have to be quick, Dawn."

Before I can respond, I feel a sudden presence right beside me accompanied with a pair of hands on my shoulders. "Relax, Dawn. I know you can do it. It's just me and you and the range," Rin's deep voice speaks and suddenly everything's okay. It's just like the first time we met. It was fun. There was no punishment for my shot nor was there a reward. Just me and Rin in the range. Hands running up and down each other's body even though we had just met. The connection, movements, and chemistry are already there. In a city of violence, it's just Rin and I. And although I hate him at the moment, he is my calm. He is my runaway, so right now, at this moment, he is what keeps me sane. "You're the foundation of this entire team, Dawn. I believe in you. We all believe in you." Rin rubs my shoulders one more time and I take a huge deep breath before responding back to Oikawa and Iwaizumi.

"I can take both. I promise." I adjust on my stomach, taking Rin's words into consideration. As much as I hate to admit it, he's right. This is all a mental block. One missed shot does not define my abilities and if I missed tonight, my team would have my back through it all. I'm not alone.

"You don't have to promise us, Dawn. We believe in you," Iwaizumi tells me and he sounds confident, which makes me feel better about all of this. I know I can do this. I've completed far more difficult missions in the past.
