I got up and decided to go to the pool out back with Kenzie since we didn't have anything planned for today. I brushed my teeth and put on my bathing suit and put my hair in a ponytail. I looked down at my phone to see august texting me

Asshole August: I made you some breakfast it's in the microwave

I smiled knowing he wouldn't let up and went downstairs to see Kenzie eating a bagel in her two piece pink and white bathing suit

"Hey girly, you getting thick" I said opening the microwave to the food august cooked me. It was shrimp and grits.

"I could say the same for you" she said smirking. I shook my head

"Nope" I said killing her nasty thoughts as I ate my grits. She smiled and sat down next to me

"So what's up with you and Chris?" I said looking at her. She started smiling so hard

"I didn't want to say anything but we are officially together" she said. I smiled

"Shut up. I'm so happy for you" I said kissing her cheek

"Thank you" she said smiling ear to ear

"Why didn't you tell Me" I said. She sighed

"We stopped talking for about a week when I found out he had two kids by two different females" she said looking down.

"Aww what happened?" I asked eating the grits

"I seen it on Instagram, and he said he thought he didn't have to tell me because we weren't in a relationship, which was true. But I just thought he would tell me anyway. I was stubborn and stopped talking to him because I caught feelings" she said the last part lowly. I smiled because it was very rare that Kenzie liked anybody.

"Awwn my mushy Kenzie" I said pinching her cheeks. She swatted my hand away

"How long y'all been together " I asked

"For about a month now" she said I smiled at her

"Okay okay enough about me. What's going on talk to me" she said looking at me

"I don't know. Dave and I are just friend and I am really happy about that but me and august, it's complicated" I said not knowing how to describe it

"It's not complicated, you're the complicated one Mira " she said laughing

"How" I asked

"He loves you girl and you keep blowing him off" she said. I sighed

"But he came here with her" I said putting the emphasis on her

"But all he sees is you" she said. I was in my head until she said something

"Come on let's go to the pool" she said grabbing my hand. She took off her cover and got in the pool and I took my hair out the ponytail and got in.
