As kids started to flood the room You mostly tried to stay out of the way, only helping Sun occasionally since you wanted to see how well the new cooling system held up without assistance and it was doing better than expected as so far you hadn't caught a single glitch and it was around halfway through the shift already, Sun currently handed out blankets and pillows to the kids much more hastily than usual since he was trying to hand them out before the lights turned off at which point moon would walk around the room making sure all of the kids were wrapped up snugly in their blankets and singing or reading to those who had trouble falling asleep, thankfully none of the kids seemed to be scared of him and you assumed it was because most of them were new and hadn't heard of or seen him when he was hacked and most of them fell asleep quickly having crashed from guzzling soda earlier in the day, you would walk up to Moon as he finished singing the last kid to sleep, placing your hand on his shoulder at which point he looked back at you "yes my little star are you having trouble sle-" he then recognized that it was you and practically flew away, jumping over the kids and landing silently several feet away from you "don't touch me! get away from my kids!" he said in an angry whisper "oh... uh sorry, I was just gonna say you were doing good" you replied, carefully stepping over the kids and sitting on a foam block outside of the crowd "well you can say that without putting your hands all over me" Moon replied as he started to clean up around the daycare "I just touched your shoulder" you muttered, earning no response from the animatronic "how long is nap time usually?" You asked "an hour, now hush" Moon replied simply, sounding somewhat annoyed, you sighed, watching with boredom as Moon cleaned the room obsessively, wandering over every 10 or so minutes to check on the kids, finally leaving the room in the last few minutes and returning with a case of mini water bottles, placing one beside each kid before stepping back as the lights turned back on and Sun went about waking the kids back up.
by the end of the shift Sun hadn't overheated and the water tanks were still mostly full so you found yourself sitting in the animatronics lap careful peeling stickers off of his face and chest since you didn't need to repair anything and he has allowed some of the kids to put stickers on him, you used an alchohol pad to take off the sticker residue before turning in his lap to be leaned back against his chest as you started to clean fingerpaint out of his hand joints "I should get some rubber bits or something to stop the paint from going down into your joints" you muttered, earning a quiet "mhmm" from Sun as he simply watched you "you're never quiet what's wrong?" You asked "nothing really, i was just hoping Moon would like you more but I'm not surprised that he doesn't, he's never liked any of our maintenance people, not since the first one, he let the first one hug him and touch him all the time but ever since they got fired he has nothing nice to say about them or any other employee for that matter" Sun explained "maybe he just really misses them" he added "or maybe they did something to hurt him and you just don't know about it" you suggested "I suppose...I did miss a lot of things when they were around, he'd always take over and shut me out whenever we needed repairs" Sun said, wrapping his arms around you and squeezing you tightly "I love you y/n... I just want Moon to know how nice you are" he mumbled "I'm sure he'll get used to me eventually sweetheart, he just needs time" you reassured, reaching back to stroke his cheek softly before patting his arms lightly to tell him to let go "c'mon, lets go up to your room for a little while", he didn't let go, tightening his grip instead and shifting you in his arms so that he could pick you up as he stood, carrying you out of the daycare and up to his room, you would squeak and cling onto him tightly as he walked "are you okay?" He asked with concern "yeah yeah I'm fine....havent been picked up since I was like 6" you answered
