You Are My Sunshine (Sun and Moon x reader)

((A/N: I'm skipping an entire day cause I'm lazy and it won't add to the plot))

The next day went by fairly quickly with no issues other than Sun not allowing the lights to turn off for naptime which was somewhat concerning to you so you questioned him about it as the last few kids were being picked up "hey Sunny, does moon not want to come out today?" You asked "Well no...but he hasn't said anything since closing yesterday so I was kinda scared...yknow...last time he was that quiet" Sun explained as he shifted nervously in place "I'm sure it's not that sweetheart, he's probably just upset or something, I think I put him in a pretty bad mood yesterday" you said, petting Sun's cheek lightly to calm him down a bit before starting to help clean up around the daycare as Sun hummed quietly to himself seeming lost in thought for a while "what did you do to make him upset?" He asked, causing you to look up from what you were doing "oh, did he have you shut out?" You asked "he always does if he thinks something bad could happen" Sun answered "well I just asked why he didn't like me and I guess I got too close and scared him...then I might've followed him and pushed it instead of letting him be...he seemed really scared, I probably shouldn't have done that" you explained honestly as you finished wiping paint and glitter off of all of the small tables "scared? Why would he be scared of you? You're sweeter than a big can of fizzyfaz" Sun questioned, earning a giggle from you "you're the sweet one Sunny, but I dunno, I've been trying to figure that out myself" you answered, pulling sun down by his shoulders and giving him a quick kiss before he suddenly spun and headed for the door "where are you going?" You asked, jogging after him "to my room, I think I know what might cheer Moon up" he said, pausing for a moment to look back with confusion as you dashed back into the daycare, returning shortly with a few of the more well-loved seeming plushies from Moon's collection and one of the rough but warm blankets from the daycare, following Sun up to his room where he began digging through some of the various boxes of junk, being sure not to leave it too disorganized, after several minutes his hand shot up into the air clutching a massive envelope folded out of what was now fairly old purple construction paper "here they are!" He announced as though you knew what 'they' were, he then carefully placed the envelope on the floor as though it would poof into dust if he wasn't as careful as possible, starting to drag out some pillows and such from their actual room into the bigger one while he explained "Moon...i know your not talking right now but I think you'll want to see this, when you first started glitching some of the kids asked where you were and I told them you were just sick so durring craft hour they made these for you and asked me to give them to you so now that I can..." You added the plushies and blanket to the circle of pillows Sun had dragged out as he walked over to the light switch, hesitating for a moment before switching it off at which point moon looked around the room quickly, looking down at the envelope on the floor before looking at you standing beside it and remaining where he was as his gaze wandered back down to stare at the envelope, you took the hint and moved back away from it, sitting across the room from moon with your back against the wall, he cautiously approached the envelope, watching you the whole way, sitting in the pile of pillows beside it and pulling the blanket up over his shoulders before finally picking the envelope up and carefully peeling off the sticker which held it closed, pulling out the contents which consisted of a fairly thick stack of hand drawn get well soon cards and starting to thumb through them, carefully studying each one as he quickly began to shake, quite sniffling noises and such leaving his voicebox despite the fact that he couldn't physically cry "stop appoligizing Sun I'm fine" he grumbled, squeezing one of the plushies tightly to his chest as he continued to look through the cards "no it's not that I just...i just don't know how to feel honestly...lost maybe...well imagine if everyone you knew dissapeared just like that and you couldn't do anything at all about it...couldnt even say goodbye...i know no one actually dissapeared...it just feels like it...theyre gone and I might never see them again...I hope they're okay" he said quietly as he slowly layed down in the pillows, burying himself as much as he could in the blanket which was definitely way too small to cover him up, you made another mental note to bring him a bigger one at some point as you mindlessly played on your phone and Moon continued to mutter quietly to Sun, you couldn't hear what he was saying anymore so figured it was none of your business
