(Third POV)
After her quick departure from the young boy, Yuna hastily made her way to the area where the screaming had been. It wasn't long before she came upon the grizzly sight of a demon feasting on an already dead villager. Letting out an angered tut, the hashira was quick to jump into action. Dammit! I was too late! Seriously! My priorities seem to have completely disappeared for this mission?! Not allowing herself to dwell on her internal scolding, she prepared a strong swing to the demons neck.
'Water breathing, first form: Water Surface Slash' Yuna swung with such graceful ferocity that the demon barely had time to dodge. Her breathing technique missing its neck but still managed to severe its arm. The demon, seeing its severed appendage disintegrate into nothing furiously turned back to where the demon slayer had come from- only to find that she was no longer there. A tense atmosphere grew around the area as the demon frantically searched around for where the damn swordsman could be, but its search was futile as not a moment later it was met with a barrage of attacks from said slayer. Not allowing the beast time to regenerate, she had made quick progress in finally beheading it.
Exhaling a soft sigh, Yuna gently sheathed her blade. "That was too boring. But I wonder where the rest of the demons are, reports said that the missing villagers where coming back turned. It's well into the night now, so where are they?" She muttered to herself, the Yukimura wandered away from the devastating scene and proceeded deeper into the village. Barely a few minutes passed before a new set of agonising cries filled the air, echoing down the abandoned maze of buildings. Ara~ I spoke too soon. Quickly making her way to the source- she paused a few metres away from the commotion, finding a sickly sense of familiarity in the scene playing out in front of her.
There before her stood a small family of five, a father standing bravely in front of his family; his arms spread out trying to cover the sight of them as much as he could. Behind him was a sobbing mother clutching onto the bloody body of a young boy. Harrowing cries left the woman's mouth as she allowed herself to hunch over the body of her dead child, completely ignoring the present threat in front of the rest of her family. The other two children were crouched behind their mother, seeking comfort in each other's embrace. A young girl and an older boy. Yuna, rooted to her spot, allowed her mind to wander back to a very long time ago, to her darkest time of life. To her, all she could see was a bloody Ami being cradled by her terrified mother. Her father standing not far in front of them and her older brothers Akihito and Fumihito shielding herself, Haru and Kaito with their bodies. She hated what she was seeing- no- she absolutely loathed it, all she could see was her dead family in front of her.
Snapping back into reality, the ice hashira didn't hesitate to put herself between the small family and the demon. Crazed laughter released itself from the demons mouth as it stared at the new presence "Kekeke a demon slayer~ how fun! Another weakling for me to kill!" The demon before them was a male, his whole body was warped and disfigured, but one notable thing about its appearance was the bone like spikes protruding along its arms and along the spine of its back. Yuna merely looked at the thing with a dead stare, her pale teal eyes of her altered form piercing into the demon. However, a mocking look soon made its way onto her face as she taunted it, "ara ara~ please don't get ahead of yourself, demon. After all, you shouldn't underestimate your opponent." A sickly-sweet smile was twisted on the Yukimura's lips as her eyes stared directly into the demons. Her taunting only served to aggravate the monster even more than it already was at her arrival. Not wanting his fun for the night to stop, he directed his left hand-palm facing the Yukimura, as sharp bones projected directly towards her. Tsk- this move is way too strong for a regular demon. This ones' got to be one of the ones Kaguya warned me about. The hashira looked into its eyes and didn't see the tell-tale sign of one of the Twelve Kizuki, conforming her thoughts, Yuna was quick to deflect the attack with a concise slice of her blade and moved herself backwards towards the family behind her.
