(Yuna's POV)

Daylight had now spread over the village.

All that was left of that night's events, was the damage caused by all the fighting between me and the former villagers.

After finishing off the remaining demons, I went around the village once more to look for anymore survivors. There weren't many villagers left though, after all- more than half of the village had already been turned into demons by the time I was sent here to eradicate them all.

In the middle of my search, Hiro had run back into the village and had gone to look for me. I'd told him off for it, but he just used the excuse of it being morning already; "there aren't any demons around in the morning and I doubt there'd be any left anyway cause you defeated them all!"

After our little moment then, I took him with me as I continued to search for anymore villagers- thankfully, I managed to come upon the family of five that I had protected against the spiked demon. Which I was glad for, knowing that they had listened to my orders and had gone to find shelter.

Both the husband and wife had offered me endless 'thank yous' and their kids were bawling senselessly, crying out their own hysterical thanks. While we were with them, I noticed that the mother was still clutching on tightly to her youngest child and I couldn't help the sympathy that flooded my body; so, I offered to help them bury their son.

Following after the family of now four, they had led me and Hiro to a small area of what seemed to have been the burial site for members of the village. We passed by multiple graves before the family had stopped next to two fresh dirt mounds. I noticed that neither of the mounds had proper headstones-more like just a small rock placed at the head of the burial. Hiro and I had stood back and allowed the family space as they mourned over the obviously recently deceased members that were buried in front of them.

Presently, the family-who introduced themselves as the Sato's-had just finished their final prating prayers for their youngest, whose grave Hiro and I helped to dig.

"I really can't thank you enough Yukimura-san, for everything. Protecting me and my family from that demon, killing all of the demons terrorising our village, and even helping us bury Ren... I can't thank you enough." Mr.Sato was now bowed before me and I instantly started to become embarrassed. I gently waved my hands in a soft dismissal, as I felt my cheeks become a little warm,

"really- it's quite alright Mr.Sato. It's my job after all. I only hope to offer you my deepest condolences for your loss, and I apologise deeply that the Demon Slayer Corps had taken so long to rescue your village." Now I was the one bowing down before the small family.

"No... it's not your fault dear, and we don't blame the Corps either. All those previous demon slayers had come here to help us then, but ultimately, they were either injured or killed. We are the thankful ones." The gentle voice of Mrs.Sato rang out. On her face was a small but thankful smile, as she thanked me with a gentle bow of her head.
