(Third POV)

Quite a few hours had passed since Levi had decided to stay in the room with Yuna. It was now late into the evening. The sky was now dark and only the moon and some dimly lit lamps provided light for the two adults who remained silent in their endeavours.

Neither of the two had gone to have dinner, and it left a few of the captain's companions wondering where he had gone off too. Though the Yukimura's brothers didn't bother to get her, they knew that if she wanted to have dinner with them, she would've come to eat already.

So there they sat. In the back room of the estate, still facing the now dark forest. only two lamps highlighted the entrance into the darkened woodland.

Yuna had decided that she would remain there, to wait for her student to return. To her side was a neatly wrapped bento which was patiently waiting to be eaten. The female had asked one of her helpers to prepare it for when Hiro would return from the forest.

She had finished sharpening her blade a few hours earlier, and it was now sheathed and gently tucked next to her legs. Yuna had realised Levi's presence as soon as she completed her task, and she was startled to see him sitting there just looking out into the trees.

The two didn't exchange any words during that time, and instead just basked in the silence. Levi hadn't looked at the woman since, not wanting to go through the experience of his thoughts running rampant like they did earlier in the afternoon.

But now that it was quite late into the night, humanities strongest decided to speak up.

"Hey. Are you not going to go after that brat?" Although he asked, he couldn't have sounded anymore disinterested.

Yuna turned to look at him and their eyes met. Unlike other times where Levi would avert his stare, he held her gaze.

Answering his question, Yuna says, "He'll come back. He can make it on his own."

"You seem to have a lot of faith in him." The man commented. She didn't reply, but instead, gave him a gentle smile. Her eyes were closed, and she had her head titled ever so slightly to the left.

Levi's eyes somewhat widened at her expression, caught off guard that such a smile was directed at him.

That smile... Why is she smiling at me like that?...

A fluttering sensation seemed to erupt within his stomach, and the man found himself getting a little uncomfortable from it. He turned away from her and stared at the moon, yet the strange feeling wouldn't subside.

That was the last of their interaction, and silence reigned once again. A few more hours seemed to pass by, and the soldier took notice on how the female had fallen asleep.
